    it turns out that she actually shot mark who was returning to surprise her, but forgot his key and had really not very good timing..

    Well I guess she didn’t want a mess in the house, Too bad this would makes for a messing court case however. My two cents is one needs to wait till they get inside. Using a Full Auto adds a Nice touch, ATF would have a hayday with this one!

    I disagree Russ. Let’s go with the facts that could be presented in court.

    1) She’s received a threatening phone call from the suspect
    2) He’s cut power to the house, indicating clear hostile intent
    3) He’s breaking in, with a knife clearly visible through the glass door.
    4) There is a clear size and strength disparity.

    Given those facts, she:
    1) Very reasonably is in fear of great bodily harm or death
    2) She has no opportunity to de-escalate the situation
    3) She is clearly a reluctant participant
    4) Is not required to retreat since she is in her own home

    Sounds to me like she more than meets the legal requirements for the use of lethal force in self-defense.

    Works quite well in my world. But then my world believes in the right to defend oneself and property when threatened. The left’s does not.
