If the Bible has taught us nothing else, and it hasn’t, it’s that girls should stick to girls sports, such as hot oil wrestling and foxy boxing and such and such.

Plug The Damn Hole!

May 26th, 2010 by Kevin

Reportedly President Obama was recently heard to utter \”Plug the damn hole!\”. I heard the comment out of context so I was momentarily confused regarding which hole he was referring to. Several possible options immediately came to mind…

Was it Biden\’s mouth?? From which so much comedy gold easily flows…much to the embarrassment, if they\’re smart enough to be, of the Obama Administration.

Was it the holes in the border? The holes through which millions of illegal aliens, including violent criminals, constantly flows. So much so that Arizona finally gave up on the federal government doing it\’s job and adopted Federal (and California) law, as it\’s own.

Was it the holes in public opinion? Obviously there must be one somewhere because Obama\’s approval ratings have been sinking across all demographics.

Was it Nashville, TN? The city which was under several feet of water for a days and days without warning….not that you\’d know it from the federal governments non-response.

What it TARP and the bailouts?? Through which we\’ve pissed away billions of dollars to no apparent benefit, except to nationalize the auto and student loan industries?

Was it Obamacare? Through which we\’re about to piss away billions of dollars more, to no apparent benefit, and quite possibly catastropic results???

Was it the upcoming The American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010?? A bill which pisses away even more billions by increasing spending by $174 billion, through $40 billion in tax increases and $134 billion in deficit spending…again to no apparent benefit.

Was it the SEIU?? Through which, while most Americans 401K plans are sinking, we\’re about to bailout underfunded and over generous union pension plans to the tune of $165 billion….because union bosses mismanaged the funds during good times, such as spending $85 million on getting Obama elected.

Is it the spot where the federal budget should be?? Because while they have an 18-seat majority in the Senate, more than a 70-seat majority in the House, and they control the White House, they still can\’t manage to even propose a budget….which leaves two possibilities, incompetence or apathy.

What hole was it that Obama angerly interrupted an aide and demanded that they \”plug the damn hole!\”

Turns out it was just that oil leak in the Gulf…the one the Federal government dithered about upon for over a week and still haven\’t gotten their act in gear. Turns out they are considering taking over from BP to address the issue….even though, by their own admission, they couldn\’t do any better job than BP has done.

At least BP is trying, which is more than can be said for the Federal government, as the state of Louisana can tell you.

At least BP is accountable to stockholders, who is the federal government accountable to….the voters?? The Obama administration has long since shown they don\’t give a damn what the voters think, as adequately evidenced by Obamacare, the AZ immigration bill, terrorist trials, bailouts and their rampant deficit spending.

No Obama, the only hole I wish was filled is the gaping chasm which appears to exist between your ears.

Stop Me If You\’ve Heard This One Before…

May 26th, 2010 by Kevin

In a move only he could be proud of, President Obama has announced he\’s deploying 1,200 National Guard troops on our southern border.  If this sounds familiar it\’s because President Bush tried it to shore up his non-existant pro-enforcement credentials in advance of his attempt to pass another amnesty for illegal aliens.  President Obama\’s move is just as transparent.

President Obama almost certainly realizes the immigration issue has gotten away from him and he\’s on the wrong side of a losing issue.  He need to give his Democrats something (ANYTHING!) to hang their hat on, and this is it.  He\’ll attempt to show what a pro-enforcement group Democrats can be by putting a paltry 1200 troops on the southern border.

The southern border is roughly 2000 miles long…so even if they are all standing their 24/7 that still amounts to less than one Guard member per mile.  Think you (or anyone) can actually monitor, much less enforce, a mile of (often difficult) terrain?  Especially when your orders don\’t allow you to do much, essentially leaving you to be overrun by heavily armed drug runners.

At best, putting troops on the border is a stop-gap measure…but there has to be something in the future to close that \”gap\”, something has to change.  Unlike the claims of those seeking a comprehensive immigration reform (AKA amnesty), we could make great strides towards closing that gap by just enforcing existing laws, which is all Arizona is attempting to do. But that\’s not going to happen when you have the head of Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) declaring they won\’t process illegal aliens referred by Arizona.  And you have ICE modifying their policies such that they no longer will attempt to detain and deport illegal aliens at all.

This desperate move is transparent scrambling to regain control of an issue they are quickly losing in the realm of public opinion.  Problem is the that public wasn\’t real receptive to endless demagoguery of the Arizona bill by the media, the White House and the Democrats, it seems unlikely they\’ll be impressed with this either.

Information about Gonorrhea Lectim

May 24th, 2010 by Kevin

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim. It’s pronounced “Gonna re-elect ‘em,” and it is a terrible obamanation.

The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008…but now most people, after having been infected for the past 1-2 years, are starting to realize how destructive this sickness is.

It’s sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the market called Votemout. You take the first dose in 2010 and the second dose in 2012 and simply don’t engage in such behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it.

Several states are already on top of this, like Virginia, Utah, New Jersey and Massachusetts, with many more seeing the writing on the wall.

Please pass this important message on to all those bright folk you really care about.

New Accurate GM Ad

May 20th, 2010 by Kevin

Someone accuratized* that lying annoying GM ad and replaced the words with much more accurate words.  Admittedly it\’s less likely to sell cars but you give enough money to Uncle Sam on April 15th, did you really need to give more to them in return for a car?

* Yeah, it\’s a new word, I just made it…deal with it.

Deep Thoughts With Kevin

May 20th, 2010 by Kevin

Yeah I haven\’t posted in awhile.  Remember I said this blog was now pretty much subject to the requirements of the Gerlach campaign.  Well that\’s pretty much the case here.  We got a couple big things coming up and I\’ve invested most/all my free time in that.  Sympathy cards are welcome.  Got a couple things I\’d like to write, all of which take too much research right now to reasonably do….or at least do well.  So instead you get linkiness.

\"\" Democrat\’s electoral strategy for 2010?? Running against Bush….again.  Seriously.

\"\" Your reading assignment, which unlike our President, or Attorney General, or Homeland Security Chief, or Secretary of State or, really anyone in the federal government, is to actually READ the Arizona Immigration bill.  It\’s pretty short (19 pages with large font) and the critical parts are in the first couple pages.

\"\" How would the world look if big government worked….the examples are proof enough that it doesn\’t work.

\"\" Okay I had a whole bunch of links lined up….but really they all boil down to the same comment….Micheal Steele….Shut. The. Fuck. Up.  Go do some fundraising or something, just don\’t come near a microphone….or people….or the press….or politicians….or anything that can listen to the stupid crap that comes out of your mouth.  In fact, just go cuddle with a rock or something.

\"\" I get criticized for not recycling all the time.  Fact is I put more stock in facts and reality than feel-good platitudes.  And the reality is, that in most cases it actually is better to NOT recycle certain materials, both economically and environmentally.

\"\" A lot of people are criticizing Obama for putting in more time golfing already, than Bush did in eight years.  To be honest, personally I\’d prefer he spend as much time on the golf course as possible….less time he\’s in the White House, the less chance he has to screw something up or badmouth America again.

\"\" Seems like we can\’t go more than a couple months, without an incident where a cop thinks videotaping them doing their job is illegal and gets all punchy and arresty.

\"\" Noooooooo…..Constantin Films is killing the \”Hitler Finds Out About \” memes that show up on YouTube about 20 times a day.  Yet another old media attempt to kill free publicity in favor of control.

\"\" Two-thirds of the public opposes a tax raise to close the deficit….but then again Obama and the Democrats have proven they don\’t care what the voters think.

\"\" Obama administration is now claiming he never promised no new taxes, he simply \”preferred\”…..uh really???  As usual, every Obama promise comes with an expiration date.

\"\" Why border enforcement is a cost-savings move…and it\’s well known that amnesties are expensive, in more ways than one.  Two choices, one clearly right and one clearly wrong…any bets on which way the Feds try to go?

\"\" On one hand the rules of the civility in politics have changed…..on the other hand, the meaning of the word \”civility\” seems to have merged with \”hypocrisy\”.

\"\" You know how when you donate to a charity, you\’d like to see the overhead/administrative costs be less than 10%??  Well don\’t you think the UN should be held to similar standards??  Good then you\’ll be glad to know that only one-third of the money the UN is spending on Haiti actually make it to…well Haiti.

\"\" DC passes a medicinal marijuana law???  Hmm, actually I support this…just imagine how much it would improve Congress.  They already act like they are stoned….if they actually were they\’d like just demolish a few hundred pizzas and then pass out for the rest of session….Best. Congress. Evah.

\"\" Heh, even better news….Dem voter turnout is plummeting.

\"\" Now Obama thinks a more informed public is bad??  Probably because the more the public learns about Obama the less they like him.

\"\" Crime in one of the cities with the harshest gun control laws has such a gun crime problem they want to call in the National Guard.  Wow, it\’s almost as if gun control doesn\’t work….but that\’s silly, because it would mean criminals don\’t follow the law.

\"\" Yeah!! Thugs in uniform!

\"\" \”Nobody wins\” in immigration reform?? Well except for those of us that care about the rule of law.

\"\" For all the bitching Mexico has done about the Arizona law, I bet you wondered how Mexico treats illegal immigrants….not well.

\"\" Trust in government has reached a new low….which makes this the least surprising poll result of the year so far.

\"\" Irony Alert! Obama signs a Freedom of the Press Act and then refuses questions from the press.

\"\" Why the continuing ammo shortage?

\"\" Neat, San Diego is suffering from their boycott more than Arizona.

\"\" The key provisions of the AZ law already exist in the CA penal code….so they plan to boycott themselves.

\"\" The authentic women\’s penis size preference chart….don\’t tell me you aren\’t curious and want to click that link.  You\’re welcome.

Consider It Done

May 14th, 2010 by Kevin

I\’ve occasionally been told I should clean up my language here.  I\’ve resisted because, well, this site was never an exercise in classical writing.  But I\’ll concede the point a bit.  Since I\’m too lazy and stubborn, I\’ve hired someone else to handle that problem for me.

In the future if you\’ve got problems with the language on your screen, please direct your complaints here and it will be cleaned up.

The Immigration Backlash Begins

May 13th, 2010 by Kevin

…but not in the way the Democrats have hoped.

The issue the Democrats were hoping to use as a wedge issue is now looking to become a political pitfall for them.  And the shovel that dug that pit, is the Arizona Immigration law.  Democrats heavily sold into the idea that by opposing the new legislation.  Obama called the bill \”misguided\”.  Obama\’s Attorney General is considering challenging the bill, in what would be a rare move by the federal government itself, challenging a state law.  Democratic safehavens such as LA and San Fransisco have boycotted Arizona over the the law.  The mega-union SEIU has also pledged to boycott Arizona.  Sharpton has pledged to defeat the bill.  Congressional Democrats called for the elimination of the bill.  Senate Democrats also attacked the bill.

But from the very start there were warning signs.  Initials polls showed the public, especially in border states, supported the legislation.  Initial glances at the bill showed little basis to oppose the bill on legal grounds.  In fact, most arguments against the bill merely highlighted the complete failure the Federal government has been on the issue.  Yet Democrats moved forward opposing the bill, hoping that they could still make a wedge issue out of this.  Now it appears things have taken a turn for the worse for Democrats.

Basically as people learn more about the bill, public approval has grown.  The problem, for Democrats, gets worse when you dig into the particulars of the polls.  The opinion of Democrats has heavily shifted in favor of the bill.  And while Democrats are now evenly split for/against the bill, a large majority of Democrats are supportive of the concept beyond the Arizona bill, which suggests that Democrats are no longer believing their own press.  Independents support has grown.  And even youth, where support is the lowest, is in favor of the Arizona immigration bill.  It\’s become such a problem that opponents are now dropping their attempts to kill the bill through a referendum, since it\’s likely to make the bill even stronger due to overwhelming public support.

So sure, the public supports the Arizona bill, but it\’s a minor issue right?  Well, actually the public is increasingly viewing immigration as one of the nation\’s most important issues.  In fact, a full 10% call it the nation\’s most important issue, above the economy, jobs, health care, etc.

Democrats have doubled down on the issue in which the public, including independents, has heavily turned against them and the importance of the issue is growing.  Immigration will certainly become a wedge issue in 2010….but it\’ll be a wedge issue for Democrats.
