Obama campaigned with the promise of \”smart diplomacy\”, which is supposedly an improvement on the \”reckless cowboy\” diplomacy used by Bush.  For one it was supposed to endear us to our friends…well let\’s do the lineup.

Israel? Pissed them off

British? Apparently the special relationship is over

Poland? Sold them out for nothing from the Russians

Czech Republic? Same deal we gave the Poles

Canada? Insulted them over a petty issue in the Arctic, now they\’re withdrawing from Afghanistan

Wow…if that\’s how we\’re treating our friends, we certainly don\’t need enemies, how is he handling them?

If this is Obama\’s \”smart diplomacy\”, I\’d hate to see when he screws up!

As the online representative of the Minnesota Militia, I\’ve been informed that we\’ve been deficient in our duties as a \”militia\”, especially given the political climate we find ourselves in.  Apparently we\’ve fallen severely behind in our quota of violent hate-mongering, a quota assigned to us by the liberals and the media (Edit : apologies from the Department of Redundancy Department).

I\’ve given the matter all the time it deserves, which regrettably took up all the time I had allocated for waterboarding myself.  Regrettably we\’ll have to deny our supposed obligation to violent outbursts and inappropriate hate-mongering.  You see, we\’re just these guys, you know?  We\’d much prefer sticking to our hobbies, such as camping, hunting, snowmobiling, sharing a frosty beverage, etc.  We stick to our strengths.  Especially since there already groups of people inclined to let their passions run away with their sensibilities, some call them liberals, I call them nuts.

Either way, their exploits are vast and varied…and usually very under-reported, except perhaps by bloggers more commited to truth than bias.  An example of just a few…

• It was not the fear of conservative violence that caused Ann Coulter’s speech to be cancelled this week.
• It was a liberal who bit the finger off a man who disagreed with him on healthcare.
• It was Obama-loving Amy Bishop who took a gun to work and murdered co-workers.
• Joseph Stack flew his plane into the IRS building after writing an anti-conservative manifesto.
• It was liberals who destroyed AM radio towers outside of Seattle.
• It’s liberals who burn down Hummer dealerships.
• It was progressive SEIU union thugs who beat a black conservative man who spoke his mind.
• It’s doubtful that a conservative fired shots into a GOP campaign headquarters.
• In fact, Democrats have no monopoly on having their offices vandalized.
• Don’t forget it was Obama’s friend Bill Ayers who used terrorism as a tool for political change. SDS is still radical, with arrests in 2007 and the storming of the CATO Institute in July 2008.
• It was a liberal who was sentenced to two years for bringing bombs and riot shields to the Republican National Convention in 2008.
• It was a liberal who threatened to kill a government informant who infiltrated her Austin-based group that planned to bomb the RNC.

The list goes on and on and on and on.

We all have our strengths.  I just wish that liberals would stick to their other strength, incoherent hypocritical rambling

So it was a pretty awful weekend for America. Democrats passed the healthcare bill in the House. But calm down everyone, the reconciliation bill is effectively dead for one. For two, the health care bill faces some very huge challenges in the court, some of them more promising than others. For example, even if the commerce clause applies to health care (which it\’s not clear it does), can Congress really force US citizens to engage in economic activity they don\’t want to engage in by signing a contract they don\’t want to sign (i.e. signing up for health insurance)?? Force citizens to do anything is the type of thing the public and courts usually cringe at.

With the health plan passing it\’s probably a good thing, that the placebo effect is getting stronger for reasons that aren\’t entirely clear.

\”The Dems are Communists\”….who said that? Bill O\’Reilly? Glenn Beck? Rush Limbaugh? How about Howard Stern? When even Howard Stern is abandoning you, you have truly lost every segment of the public.

Think I\’m kidding?? Right on cue…there goes the Youth vote

Which is probably why, Obama has decided to start his 2012 campaign already.

Fire Pelosi….if you have problems getting through, be patient, the site has been overwhelmed with people signing up and donating….just short of a million dollars already at the time of writing this.

Looking at the ratings, the all white cast of MSNBC has beat out Black Entertainment TV (BET) in the ratings.  That means they are racist right, at least by Olbermann standards yeah?  Ok so that\’s the good news for MSNBC….bad news is they got beat by such ratings powerhouses such as Hallmark, MTV, the Food Network and the Cartoon Network.

Remember the Patriot Act?  That evil monstrosity that Democrats repeatedly campaigned against in 2008?? Well they just renewed it.

This could have been a redeeming quality for nationalized health care…but turns out that standard health care does not in fact include sex.  You can thank the Dutch for ruining it for everyone.

Democrats appear to be developing a knack for picking the worst possible issues to pursue.  After a year of the public crying out for jobs, Democrats pursued health care.  Now they want to pursue climate change, after several months of finding out that virtually every claim has been debunked.

In my day to day social conversations, I tend to avoid the topic of politics. It\’s a subject, that like religion and sex, tends to make people very uncomfortable unless they are in a situation where such a topic is natural. I\’m also aware that I am rather \”unique\” in that I find politics interesting. I\’m very aware that most of the normal population finds politics dreadfully boring, to the point that between politics and an icepick lobotomy, their only question is \”Which nostril?\”.

So I intensely avoid the topic if possible, both to save others the ordeal but also because I spend so much of my free time engaged in political activity that a change of scenery is nice. That said, I\’ve never hid either my love of politics nor my political leanings, and most people who have known me for any length of time, be they neighbors or my boss, are probably aware of it. It\’ll come up, but I won\’t force the issue unless they really want to. They rarely, if ever, do. Today all that changed.

I found, with a great deal of surprise, that a number of people who were, as far as I was aware, were very apolitical, have approached me today and started bitching about the health care bill. Presumably they figured they\’d find a sympathetic audience with me, and I\’m happy to oblige, if somewhat reluctant and mildly confused.

The content of their complaints were rather pedestrian, all ones I\’ve heard ad nauseum before, not that I don\’t have similiar concerns. Worries about the cost, and how this plan could possibly work. Worries about being dependent on government for something as basic as health care. Worried about just what direction things are going. The basics we\’ve all heard echoed in the political ecosphere for the six months or so.

What really struck me is just who these people were. There are people who seek out a political conversation with me, these were not among them. For most of them, they are so apolitical, if they\’ve ever even voted I\’d be surprised. Some were little more than strangers to me, with whom the most personal conversation I\’ve had is asking how much snow they got in their driveway. Yet here they are, complaining about health care and how the politician \”don\’t give a damn about us\” and distress at how \”politicians don\’t listen to us\”.

Another striking observation I had was that these people were very well informed. For a topic as complex and constantly changing as this health care issue has been, these were people that were very knowledgeable about the debate, but also the various versions this health care bill has had. For people that I though hate and avoid politics, this is clearly an issue that they had become engaged about.

For almost all of them, I followed the same script. I listened, I symphathized, I corrected misconceptions or outdated information when there was some (rarely), and then I usually at some point made the comment \”Well, just remember all this in November\”. Universally the response was some variant of \”You bet I will! I\’m voting their ass out\”.

The liberals may very well have opened Pandora\’s Box by releasing the means to obtain socialized medicine. By like the fabled box (actually a jar), they have also released Hope. Hope comes in the form of an awakened public, this public has been content to slumber, only to find it has been taken for granted and it\’s wishes ignored. Now awakened, this public is enraged in a way my generation has never seen, and November looks to be a time of retribution.

That above all, inspires Hope…not the fake Hope of Hope&Change, but the real stuff. The Hope that can only come from good decent folk working together towards a common cause, and especially when against the oppressive tyranny of a distant elite.

A Marine squad was marching north of Fallujah when they came upon an Iraqi terrorist who was badly injured and unconscious. On the opposite side of the road was an American Marine in a similar but less serious state. The Marine was conscious and alert and as first aid was given to both men, the squad leader asked the injured Marine what had happened.

The Marine reported, \”I was heavily armed and moving north along the highway here, and coming south was a heavily armed insurgent.  We saw each other and both took cover in the ditches along the road. I yelled to him that Saddam Hussein was a miserable, lowlife scum bag who got what he deserved.  And he yelled back that Barack Obama is a lying, good-for-nothing, left wing Commie who isn\’t even an American.

So I said that Osama Bin Laden dresses and acts like a frigid, mean-spirited lesbian!  He retaliated by yelling, \”Oh yeah? Well, so does Nancy Pelosi!\”
