Deep Thoughts With Kevin

February 24th, 2010 by Kevin

Yeah, I know I’ve been slacking lately but heh, the customer is in town all week so I’m busy.  So instead of insightful commentary that leaves you breathless at it’s genius you get pithy snarky comments that leave you breathless at their brilliance….totally different.

If there ever comes a time that there is not a ready supply of delicious bacon, and therefore there is a need for “Tactical Bacon“, I don’t want to live in that world.

Finally we’re all in agreement, women are insane.

I’m not surprised, but further proof that Republicans just haven’t learned and are dooming themselves.  Even after all the Tea Parties and the criticizing Democrats for spending frivolously, Republicans still lead the earmarks list.  If you want Tea Party activists to take the Republican Party seriously, this is NOT the way to do it.  This is the way to virtually ensure a Third Party challenge from the Tea Party.

I bet the Department of Homeland Security has “lost” more guns in restrooms and the like, then have supposedly fallen into criminal hands via the mythical “gun show loophole”.

Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia

At least they weren’t made “unpersons”

Utah passes a gun regulation exemption bill, similar to Montana’s.  There are also several other states making serious attempts towards similar bills.  It’s not so much the effect these bills themselves will have, but that yet another state is moving forward with this type of legislation.

Tea Parties show the Democrats have a serious demographics problem….especially since the elderly tend to vote at a far higher rate than most other voting blocks.

At one point Obama ridiculed his critics for thinking he was going to be a tax-and-spend liberal….now he’s agnostic about raising taxes on the middle class.

A cost-benefit analysis between Palin’s speech aids and Obama’s

White House admits that unemployment will get even worse in 2010….aren’t they also claiming that the stimulus totally worked?? The same stimulus that they insisted if we passed would mean unemployment would stay below 8%

A new study has revealed the mathematical formula for when the best time to get married is….according to that formula I just reached that age.  Hmmm, I dunno, someone’s gonna have to get me pregnant first.

When Bush used executive power he was a tyrannical fascist dictator, when Obama does it, it’s a savvy political move in the name of “progress”.

Didn’t we pick Michael Steel as chairman because he was a media savvy spokesman that would make the GOP look good on the national stage?  Or at the very least he wouldn’t show insanely Bidenesque qualities?

Military lessons from Gulf War II….interesting read.

Why is it that the White House feels the need to pick a fight with all their critics….I can’t remember an administration being THIS thin-skinned.

Neat, Swiss prostitutes are now a full service provider…you can get your sex, and if you have a heart attack during it, they are prepared and trained to use defibrillators.

Bill O’Reilly Supports Firearm Confiscation From Citizens

February 22nd, 2010 by Kevin

According to Bill O’Reilly, opposing government confiscation of firearms is an “extreme” view….nevermind that it’s the LAW and has been firmly upheld by the courts over and over.  Just ask the City of New Orleans that got their legal pee pee slapped for trying that during Katrina.

But according to Bill O’Reilly the government is perfectly excused to confiscate firearms from citizens during emergencies.  Nevermind, that during emergencies, when public services like police and fire are breaking down and/or strained to the limit, is the time private citizens need their firearms the most!  And if it’s such an emergency how can a government possibly have the resources to be confiscating firearms anyway.

Whatever the reason, either Bill O’Reilly has completely flipped his lid or whomever prepped him for this show was on drugs.  Because O’Reilly comes off as the kook here, and his guest as rationale and intelligent, and thoroughly patient with O’Reilly’s idiocy.

Congrats Bill, you had a great run.  Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out.

ACTION ALERT – Health Reform Rally With Sen. Franken

February 20th, 2010 by Kevin

Are you ready to give Sen. Al Franken a piece of your mind?

Senator Franken is holding an ObamaCare rally THIS Sunday afternoon (2/21) - see below.

Health care reform is not dead. Not yet.

Reports out of Washington, D.C. suggest that the majority party is planning to ram national health care into law through a reconciliation bill (only 51 votes needed) after the upcoming health care pow-wow (2/25/10).

It would be good if Sen. Al Franken heard a whole lot of ‘NOs’ at his health care rally.

What: Health reform rally with
Senator Al Franken

Where: Minneapolis United Labor Center
312 Central Ave, S.E.
Minneapolis, MN 55414

When: Sunday, February 21st
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The Organizing for America Obama-groupies are already organizing to try to mob the event to prevent people from voicing their distaste for this bill.  It’s up to you to show up and let Senator Franken know you don’t want this bill!

Is The Senate Actually Within Reach?

February 19th, 2010 by Kevin

It’s become fashionable lately to wonder if the Republicans will retake the Senate this fall.  I’ll admit it’s not without some cause, after all national Democrats seem to be doing everything they can to stack the deck against themselves.  Republicans keep making gains and they’ve been less incompetent that usual lately.  That’s encouraging.  And Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts was a shot across the bow to every Democrat up for election, every seat is in play now.

However, not all seats are created equal.  Just because Brown and his pickup truck won in Massachusetts, doesn’t mean that will translate across the country.  For sure Republicans are likely to make some VERY significant gains in the Senate, but it’s hard to imagine a scenario that involves the takeover of the Senate.  I see the Republicans getting to 49, maybe 50 seats, but after that the spigot runs dry.  We’ll go through them state-by-state.  See if you can figure out where the Republicans are going to get that magical 51st seat.

Indiana – The latest of Democratic problems, Senator Evan Bayh just announced that he is retiring, supposedly because Congress is too partisan. Republicans have a top tier candidate with former Senator Dan Coats (R) running for Bayh’s seat. Democrats were set to use the caucus system to appoint a candidate from the Democrat side. Then came Tamyra d’Ippolito, who looked set to cement herself as the Democrat candidate by gathering enough signatures.  Turns out she didn’t do it, so if she still wants the seat she has to go through the caucus process.

This is a fairly moderate state and Bayh was a good fit for it, so a caucus approach may not be the most succesful for the Democrats, as it’s more likely to generate an far left candidate.  And with the anti-Democrat wave sweeping the country that could spell disaster for the Democratic party.  I’d mark this one as a likely Republican takeover, first set of polls will tell us a lot or how the voters of Indiana are interpreting all this.

Nevada – This, along with Illinois and Delaware, represent the Senatorial Holy Trinity. Much like it was great to knock off Senator Daschle of South Dakota, defeating Majority Leader Harry Reid would be a big trophy for Republicans. And the way things have gone, this could be a relatively easy task. Harry Reid has been underwater on the polls for awhile now and the radical liberal agenda he has lead the Senate through isn’t helping.

There are a number of Republicans vying for this seat and so far no clear front runner has emerged but they all poll ahead of Reid.  While Reid is an impressive fundraiser, I doubt it’s going to help him out here.  Short of some major event, this is a Republican takeover.

Illinois – The Father portion of the Senatorial Holy Trinity, Obama’s old seat is ripe for the picking.  Currently purchased warmed by Roland Burris.  State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, is the Democrat’s candidate, but he’s got problems.  Like virtually every other Democrat in Illinois he’s tainted by corruption and ties to all sorts of unsavory characters, like Rezko and Blagojevich.

Meanwhile the GOP has a pretty solid candidate in Mark Kirk.  Nobody is under any illusions that Kirk is a solid conservative, he’s a moderate on social issues, but conservative on defense and economic issues, and in this political climate the economy is all people care about right now.  Kirk is polling ahead right now and really the stars seem to be aligning for this one right now.  But expect Obama and the White House to become the 600-pound something in the room, whether that something is a bull in a china shop or a top-notch political machine remains to be determined, but this is looking like a likely Republican takeover.

Delaware – The Son of the Holy Trinity, is Vice Moron Biden’s old seat, currently being held by Ted Kaufman.  The Democrats basically don’t have anyone willing to stick out their neck here.  Even Biden’s son, Beau, isn’t putting his ass on the line for what sure to be a trouncing at the hands of Mike Castle, a moderate, whose views align pretty solidly with the state.

Not much to discuss here, solid Republican takeover, I’ll put money on it.

North Dakota – Dorgan is out, Republican Governor John Hoeven is in, Republican takeover….any question?

Arkansas – Senator Blanche Lincoln is just about the only Democrat in the state that hasn’t already jumped ship and retired.  Her polls numbers virtually spell death.  The only good thing you can say for Lincoln here, is that so far she doesn’t have a top Republican opponent…yet.  Although, basically any Republican with a heartbeat is leading her by double digits in the polls.  Short of Republicans nominating a bran muffin, just to make things interesting, Lincoln is finished.  Republican takeover.

Pennsylvania – Irony, thy name is Senator Arlen Specter.  He switched parties to avoid a primary challenge.  And now he’s got one as a Democrat and it’s far from clear that Sestak won’t beat him silly.  Not that it much matters because Pat Toomey is polling well against both Specter and Sestak anyway.  Normally I’d leave it at that, and call this a solid Republican takeover, but Toomey is probably quite a bit more conservative than this state, so there’s the possibility he won’t gain traction.  But so far he seems to be doing well, so this gets a likely Republican takeover rating.

Colorado – Senator Michael Bennet is polling pretty awful.  It helps that he’s never held elective office until he was appointed to this seat to replace Salazar.  He’s got a primary challenge it’s not clear he’ll win.  But like Pennsylvania, it doesn’t much matter, because Lieutenant Governor Jane Norton is the Republican candidate and polls well against both Bennet and any Democrat challengers.  Short of some major bumble by Norton, this is a Republican takeover.

Ok so, so far things like pretty cheery for the Republican Party right?  Problem is that even if Republicans achieved the rather spectacular feat of taking all these seats, it still only brings them to 49.  And that’s assuming Republicans don’t lose their own seats, which is far from certain (more on that later).  Republicans still need two more seats (to break the Biden tie-breaker) to take the Senate.  And those just don’t look likely.

California – Senator Boxer is batshit crazy to be sure, but that’s not even tabloid worthy in California.  Yeah, she’s facing her biggest contest since someone decided to slice bread.  Yeah, she’s under 50% in the polls.  Although she’s still polling above all three of her potential Republican opponents, but just barely and she only gets about 48%.  Yes I realize we are now in the age of Scott Brown taking Massa-fucking-chusetts, but come on people….it’s California.  They invented the concept of damn dirty hippies.  They still raise them on communal farms out there.

Besides, the peripherals don’t bode well from Republicans.  Turnout will be high as Californians seek to replace Arnold.  Plus Obama is still popular out there, so the anti-Democrat fever isn’t quite as pronounced.  There is still the possibility that California’s budget troubles creates an anti-Democrat wave, but that’s looking unlikely so far.  I stick to my original opinion on California, that our best bet is that a massive earthquake swallows up the entire state and rids us of them forever….because that’s the only way I don’t see this as a Democratic retention.

New York – Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is polling something awful, and her party hasn’t united behind her yet.  Again the problem is the Republicans, they haven’t come up with a solid candidate yet.  So far Gillibrand polls ahead of them all.  The elephant in the room is former Governor Pataki and he hasn’t shown clear signs towards running.  And the longer he waits, the less likely it is.  New York is an expensive state to run in, you got a lot of big media markets you have to afford.  Fundraising becomes a real issue here.  At this point it’s a solid Democrat retention, unless Pataki jumps in soon.

Wisconsin – Senator Feingold is struggling, especially against potential Republican opponent Governor Tommy Thompson.  Problem is Thompson doesn’t seem particularly inclined to run.  Although it does mean Feingold is potentially vulnerable.  But that’s only if the GOP can get a top-tier candidate to step forward.  Unless the Wisconsin GOP get’s it’s act together, this is a Democrat retention.

Washington – Senator Patty Murray isn’t particularly an impressive Senator even in a good year.  But she’s not in an particular danger either.  Her state has trended to the left ever since she won it, and nothing here really signals danger for her.  Solid Democrat retention.

Yeah, there are other Democrat Senate seats up for election, but seriously….not even worth writing about.

And remember Republicans have their own seats to defend…

Ohio – Ohio is solid purple and is a toss-up in the best of conditions.  Republicans have picked Rob Portman, Bush’s OMB director and Trade Rep.  This is a really odd choice for this state.  Either Ohio has a really shallow pool of talent GOP-wise or Portman has pictures of someone with a goat.  That said, so far he’s leading in the polls, although I’m guessing the general anti-Democrat feeling around the country is the only thing making that happen.  Right now this is slightly leaning towards Republican retention, with the ability to go toss-up at any moment.

Kentucky – This SHOULD be an easy seat for Republicans, but they’re doing their best to screw it up.  The biggest factor here is the presence of Rand Paul (Ron Paul’s son) in the race.  He leads Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the primaries, which is a bad thing.  Kentucky is not a state that’s likely to take to libertarianism, in fact it’s pretty much the inverse.  Look for Democrats to lay low and let Paul take the nomination, and then start explaining to Kentucky what libertarianism really is.  If Grayson can pull out the nomination it’s a likely Republican retention, but if Paul takes the nomination this is a toss-up.

Missouri – Again this should be a fairly easy win for Republicans, but they’re doing their best to screw it up.  Obama polls awful here, although that’s not surprising as this state stayed red in a very anti-red year in 2008.  Republicans are going with a rather uninspiring Roy Blunt, who has flirted with the birthers, although hasn’t fully embraced them.  Fortunately Democrats apparently agreed with the theme of making the election and snoozefest and went with Robin Carnahan.  On one hand she’s managed to really pull in votes in elections past, on the other hand the dynamics or this race don’t favor her.  This one goes as slightly leaning Republican retention.

New Hampshire – This state has bounced back and forth in the way it leans politically for years, currently trending left to right so that’s a plus for Republicans.  For this open Senate seat, Attorney General Kelly Ayotte (R) leads Rep. Paul Hodes (D) in the polls by a fair margin but she’s still under 50%, so it’s hard to be confident.  Plus Ayotte is facing a lot of competition in the primaries, so this race is a lot more competitive than Republicans should be comfortable with.  Leaning Republican retention.

So there you go, Republicans can pretty easily make some major gains and get to 49….but the road to 51 is pretty ugly.  I just can’t see enough stars aligning to make it happen.  There would have to be some pretty major shifts yet in these races.  Keep in mind that the voter’s mood right now is anti-incumbent….not necessarily anti-Democrat.  So Republicans are just as in danger as Democrats are.

Republicans can generally feel good about making some gains in 2010, but not about regaining the Senate.

Lindstrom : Because Apologies Are For The Little People

February 17th, 2010 by Kevin

Well, it looks like Mr. Lindstrom saw my post from last night and realized his mistake, when he posted some libelous statements about Tara Mack and attempted to misrepresent what I said.  Instead of owning up to his mistake and admitting it just as publicly as he made them, he’s silently removed them from his Facebook page.

Guess what Mr. Lindstrom, just because you take it down doesn’t mean it never existed.  I’d say you owe Rep. Mack an apology.

Might want to try actually calling her this time though.

How To Borrow $1 Billion Without Debate

February 17th, 2010 by Kevin

Good thing we have the DFL around to teach us how to railroad through borrowing $1 Billion dollars of additional debt without debate.  You’d think the legislature would at least TRY to balance the budget before borrowing another billion.

And while the following projects may well have merit, when this state has a budget deficit in the BILLIONS, is now really the time?

Bemidji Headwaters Science Center $475,000
MN African-American History Museum & Cultural Center $840,000
Mankato Civic Center and All Seasons Arenas $13,900,000
Minneapolis Orchestra Hall $17,000,000
Rochester-Mayo Civic Center Complex $28,000,000
St. Cloud Civic Center Expansion $15,100,000
Ordway Center for the Performing Arts $16,000,000

Apparently according to the, there is never a time to waste more taxpayer dollars and ring up more debt.

Lindstrom : Apparently Confused By The InterWebs

February 17th, 2010 by Kevin

Derrick Lindstrom, the DFL’s sacrificial lamb for House District 37A, is a apparently a little confused about how these interwebs work.  For being an educator whose big issue is education, Mr. Lindstrom could apparently use some education himself on how the internet works.  In response to my article on him a couple weeks ago, Mr. Lindstrom posted the following on his Facebook page:

In the last week, Rep. have been misrepresenting my words, claiming I am sexist, and attacking me as a father. Tara Mack even went as far as to imply that I was attacking her for not having kids. The most colorful of statements include… He’s hardly what Minnesota needs right now or really ever. For a donation of $…25 our message can reach 250 homes. Will you set the record straight?

Poor Mr. Lindstrom…apparently so confused by something as simple as a blog post.

Let’s start with the most comical, the statement he attributes to Rep. Tara Mack :

He’s hardly what Minnesota needs right now or really ever.

That’s a direct quote from my article two weeks ago.  Despite me signing my articles with my name, he apparently still decided to attribute those statements to Rep. Mack.  Despite my website looking nothing like hers, apparently it’s close enough for Mr. Lindstrom. Despite the fact that I have no association with Rep. Mack, other than her being my legislator, Mr. Lindstrom thinks I’m the official spokesman for Rep. Mack.  Is someone this clueless really fit for the Minnesota Legislature?

And furthermore Mr. Lindstrom, I’m not misrepresenting anything.  I’m using your own words.  If you were misquoted, take that up with the newspaper.  Otherwise let’s revisit your statements.

As to the me attacking you as a father, I never did that.  Again, I realize you have a problem with the written language but let’s take a look at what I wrote.

And Mr. Lindstrom, despite being a family man, appears to be hold some rather anti-family priorities.

“Tara missed 27 floor votes, that’s 27 times the people of 37A did not have a voice”

First of all, in the grand scheme of things 27 votes isn’t a huge amount but that’s beside the point.  Rep. Mack missed only two days of the session….so she could attend her grandfather’s funeral when he died unexpectedly.  I know I know…clearly her priorities are a little messed up.  I mean she could attend her grandfather’s military funeral any time, but those 27 votes….well, the world could end.

You attacked Rep. Mack for missing floor votes without bothering to find out why.  She was attending her grandfather’s military funeral.  But you chose to attack her for that.  So either you knew the reason and still attacked her, making you anti-family.  Or you didn’t bother to find out the reason, which makes you incompetent.  Your pick!!

And while you may deny attacking Rep. Mack for not having kids, that’s exactly what you did.  Parentage apparently grants you some sort of magical secret decoder ring to the mysteries of the legislature.  Therefore since you have kids and she doesn’t, you’re more qualified?  I’ve never heard a male politician criticized or marginalized for not having children before, yet in this case it’s okay?  How about you just stick to pointing out your qualifications (whatever they are) and leave the mudslinging to the pros (that’s me!).

And because you apparently have problems with comprehension, I’m typing this last part very slowly for you….

I am not Rep. Tara Mack.  I am Kevin Ecker, Apple Valley resident, local blogger, agent provocateur, and conservative activist.  My thoughts are my own.  If you really have a problem with what I have to say, you can respond to me in the comments.  Or you can continue to complain about me on Facebook, and I can continue to publicly point out your incompetence.

Success Has A Thousand Fathers And One Of Them Has Two Faces

February 16th, 2010 by Kevin

Vice President Biden is well known for his verbal gaffes and he has provided no shortage of fodder for critics of this administration.

Some are amusing, like “Look, John’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs.

The others are potentially dangerous, like “I wouldn’t go anywhere in confined places now. It’s not that it’s going to Mexico in a confined aircraft where one person sneezes, that goes all the way through the aircraft. That’s me. I would not be, at this point, if they had another way of transportation, suggesting they ride the subway.

The latest is just bizarre in the apparently contradictory assertions he’s made on a single topic.  Back when he was a mere Senator, Vice President Biden was widely criticized for his position on Iraq, indicating that basically we should split the country into three parts.  Despite that position, and his bosses position that the “surge” would actually make Iraq worse, and therefore we should pull out of Iraq, Biden was only a couple days ago claiming credit for Iraq.

I am very optimistic about — about Iraq. I mean, this could be one of the great achievements of this administration. You’re going to see 90,000 American troops come marching home by the end of the summer. You’re going to see a stable government in Iraq that is actually moving toward a representative government.

I spent — I’ve been there 17 times now. I go about every two months — three months. I know every one of the major players in all the segments of that society. It’s impressed me. I’ve been impressed how they have been deciding to use the political process rather than guns to settle their differences.

True Iraq is a great accomplishment.  We’ve done a lot there, although there is a lot more to do, and be done, not necessarily all by us.  But it’s rather arrogant to claim credit for an accomplishment that both you and your boss would have bailed on before even trying to win.

Now Biden appears to be not so enamored of Iraq

Vice President Joe Biden says the Iraq war hasn’t been worth its “horrible price.”

He says the war was mishandled from the outset and that the U.S. took its eye off the ball. As a result, he says the U.S. was left in a more dangerous position in Afghanistan, where al-Qaida hatched the Sept 11 attacks.

Biden tells NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the war also has cost the United States support from other nations.

There’s no dispute that the US paid a very very large price for Iraq.  But to one day claim credit for a great accomplishment, and then days later trivialize it as unworthy is quite a two-faced maneuver that only the most slimy of politicians can pull off.

Congrats Biden for being that slimy.

Another Note From He That Is Most High

February 12th, 2010 by Kevin

It seems like it’s probably a bad thing that actually look forward to these emails now.

Kevin –

You hitting on me?

As we head into an election year, the new strategy for killing reform is claiming that members of Congress who vote for it will suffer at the polls.

No, that’s not the strategy for killing reform, that’s the strategy for voting your worthless asses out of office. And we don’t have to do much claiming.  The voting public has been doing plenty of that themselves.  Whether it be Scott Brown in Massa-fucking-chusetts.  Or the Governor races in New Jersey and Virginia.  Republicans haven’t just made those up.  Those are cases of the voters telling you they hate this shitty bill.

For months, our opponents have spread lies about reform to scare voters away. But the simple truth about what reform would actually do — save jobs, guarantee all Americans affordable, stable coverage, and significantly reduce the deficit — is something most Americans strongly support.

Problem is the facts doesn’t back up any of that.  Truth is that this bill will RAISE the cost of health care for most and won’t affect it much at all for everyone else.  And it’ll massively add to the deficit, but due to some fancy bookkeeping you’ve managed to hide most of it, but even then it’ll still add to the deficit.  You seriously can’t expect that you’re going to massively increase the size of a program that’s already losing money and expect it to suddenly be profitable do you??

So yeah, it’s true that most Americans probably support all that, but the problem is your bill doesn’t provide any of it.

The question is, come November, will the voters know the facts?

I hope so…because polling shows that the more the voters learn about this bill the more they hate it.

OFA supporters have asked for a way to show every member of Congress that if they fight for reform now, we’ll back them up this election season.

Well you could have started by supporting the Democrat in Masschusetts, Virgina and New Jersey when it actually mattered.  Instead Democrats have stayed home, not that I’m disappointed.

That’s why we’re launching “You fight, we’ll fight” — a volunteer pledge bank where you can commit your time to back up candidates and officials who fight hard for health reform.

Another meaningless feel-good program by Democrats, why am I not surprised.  From the same party that spends spends spends, promising to pay it off later…but never actually does.

We’re shooting for 1,000,000 hours pledged to spread the word to fellow voters. And if we get there, we’ll publish the total hours pledged in USA Today, so there will be no doubt that health reform is both good policy and good politics.

Reminds me of that South Park episode where the boys are trying to make millions in “Internet Theoretical Dollars”.  But heh, I suppose this is what you have to settle for.  The polls are against you.  The elections are against you.  Political momentum is against you.  Nobody likes you, everybody hates you, time to go eat some worms.

Can you pledge right away?

Sure, why not? I pledge 5 billion hours…I promise…totally I do.

President Obama has made it crystal clear that he has no intention of walking away from health reform — and this movement has made its desire to fight on just as clear.

Yeah, a promise from Obama is about as rock solid as the one I just gave.  Every promise Obama makes has an expiration date.

And many members of Congress are already working hard by his side to get the job done. But for those on the fence about whether or not to proceed, knowing you are there to back up a courageous stand can make all the difference.

Yeah, you’ll almost make up for the massive numbers of independents running away from Democrats.  Your candidate will only lose by 10 percentage points instead of 15.

Your volunteer hours can have a huge impact no matter where you live. You can make calls into critical districts where health reform champions are in jeopardy, write letters to the editor, volunteer for nearby campaigns, or even just talk to friends, family, and neighbors to help cut through the special interest spin.

You just lost Massachusetts….ergo EVERY district is in jeopardy.

And Obama hired most of the special interests for his administration…why would you be needing to cut their their spin??

We’ll offer lots of ways to get involved between now and the elections in November, and you can decide which are right for you — the important thing right now is to publicly show your commitment to fight for those who make health reform a reality.

Basically feel free to make all sorts of promises, with the full understanding that you’ll never actually follow through on them…..HEH! That sounds a lot like the ObamaCare plan….how convenient!

We’ve certainly faced setbacks in this fight. But as President Obama told OFA supporters last week, that only means we need to work that much harder.

Setbacks?  Yeah, the Titanic also had a minor navigational error.  The public has turned against you.  The voters are voting against you.  Your base has abandoned you.  The independents are disgusted with you.  Only thing you have going for you is the Republicans are too incompetent to fully take advantage.  But I suppose in your always sunny world, that’s a “setback”.

Thanks for making it possible,

Don’t thank me, thank the voters.
