So, I’m still waiting for your take on the State Central Committee. I saw you there, but then you’d always move around, so I didn’t get to say, “Hi.”

    Well, what did you think?

  2. Kevin Says:

Did not know you were a delegate! Sorry, but I was in attendance mostly to accomplish a few peripheral tasks. The SCC meeting was sort of peripheral entertainment.

Eh, I didn’t get overly worked up about the candidates. Both Chair and Deputy Chair had two solid candidates running. Sutton and Thompson, and then Fleming and Brodkorb.

I had my preferences for each race, which the other delegates apparently did not share. But I don’t think the results are the end of the world.

  3. Princess FlickerFeather Says:

I wasn’t a delegate, but I was one person away from being able to vote, but I did stay and watch the whole thing.

Why didn’t you like Bob? I thought he was the only one that seemed to be honest and not a politician.

But I agree, it wasn’t what I wanted and yet there’s always 2011.

  4. Kevin Says:

What didn’t I like about Bob? Well most of what I didn’t like about him I’m not sure I can express without being insulting towards Bob, and that’s not what I’m trying to do, so I’ll bite my rhetorical tongue. But he was clearly out of his comfort zone and not ready for the prime-time.

And if you’re looking for someone other than a politician, I’m not sure a political organization is the place to look for them.

  5. Princess FlickerFeather Says:

What I mean by the word “politician” is someone who wants to run for power or fame or glory. It’s what the word has come to mean to me.

I want someone who is willing to serve, truly serve the Constitution. (I don’t know if someone like that exists, but I like to hope.)

    Does that make sense?

  6. Kevin Says:

I understand what you mean, but almost by definition, those best able to serve don’t want to serve.

And anyone that wants to serve almost by virtue of wanting to, should NOT be trusted to serve.

  7. Princess FlickerFeather Says:

    Sorry, this took so long.

I’d have to agree with you. Darn! ^_^

So, then it comes down to what we, as a country, need. To me, that is someone who truly understands the Constitution in the context it was written, not something to be interpreted on a culture’s whim.
