How\’s That Culture Of Corruption Working Out For You Democrats?

March 19th, 2009 by Kevin

In 2006, Democrats continuously pounded on the Republican \”Culture of Corruption\” mantra, highlighting cases of Republican \”corruption\” during the first Bush term.  Partially due to this, Democrats took control of both the House and Senate.

Since then the Democrats have proven not only that it\’s not just Republicans but that Republicans are rank amateurs at this corruption thing.  And while Republicans have resigned or been forced out of their position when their actions have been revealed, Democrats frequently simply deny and move on like it never happened.

The list goes on and on and on….

DC Mayor Marion Barry – Caught smoking crack in an FBI sting operation

Rod Blagojevich – Attempted to sell a Senate seat and all sorts of \”Pay-To-Play\” scandals.  Refused to resign and eventually appointed Senator Burris in Obama\’s seat

Eliot Spitzer – Client of a prostitution ring

William Jefferson -Took a $100,000 bribe from an FBI informant, and was later found to have hid $90,000 of it in his freezer.  Refused to resign and was even re-elected by apparently quite a few morons in Louisana.

Rep. Alan Mollohan – Has basically earmarked himself to riches, by providing earmarks to various companies who in turn funneled all sorts of favors to Mollohan and entities associated with Mollohan.

Kwame Kilpatrick – Became the only Detroit major to be charged with a felony while still in office.  His entire political career has been one long string of scandals including a party hosting strippers at the official Mayoral mansion.   His wife came home and began to attack one of the strippers….that stripper later ended up murdered.  Also had a extra-marital affair with his chief-of-staff.

Rep. Charlie Rangel – Exploited a whole variety of tax loopholes for his personal benefit.  Also failed to disclose a variety of income and a sweetheart deal on four rent-controlled apartments.  Has funneled campaign funds to his own family and used earmarks to order to money for organizations related to him.

Sen. Dianne Wilkerson – Accepted bribes, currently awaiting trial

Rep. Maxine Waters – Has used to position to obtain favors and preferential treatment for a bank with which she has financial ties.

Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Fumo – Convincted on 137 counts in a federal corruption trial

Conneticut State Senator Ernest Newton – Currently serving five years for bribery and corruption

Sandy Berger – Stole documents from the National Archives by stuffing them down his pants in advance of an investigation by the 9/11 Commission.

Gov. Bill Richardson – Accusations of his own Pay To Play scandals, as well as awarding state contracts to business with which he has associations.

Senator Robert Torricelli – Solicited campaign contributions from a North Korean businessman, resigned when it became clear he couldn\’t win re-election.

Rep. John Conyers – Used taxpayer-funded official staff for campaign and personal purposes.
