Culture Of Incompetence

Yesterday I wrote about the culture of corruption taking hold in the Democratic Party. And while this trend can be worrisome, it’s nothing compared to the Culture of Incompetence that seems to have plagued the Obama Administration ever since Election Day.
Foreign Policy
Obama repeatedly stated how he would restore the United State’s reputation around the world and that everyone would love us again. Predictably that has failed to happen but what’s even worse is the inability of the Obama administration to handle the easiest of diplomatic tasks.
For example our special relationship with Britain, not only do we share hundreds of years of history, but they are our closest ally. Despite all that, it’s not a difficult relationship to maintain. No sources of major contention and our relationship hasn’t changed much in recent years. The script is already written, it doesn’t take much to follow it. Instead Obama screws it up and essentially sends the British the message of “screw you“.
Then we demonstrate a great deal of weakness by not reluctantly, but willingly, giving up one of our most valuable tools for national security in return for….well nothing. And what’s more we basically offered to roll over on some of our closest new allies, a move we initiated.
As a result, the world sees us as weak and spineless. The Kremlin has indicated it’s officially going back to it’s bully ways and has even announced rearmament. China is openly challenging our naval forces. North Korea is launching ballistic missiles in defiance of UN santions. And the foundation for a new Cuban missile crisis is being laid.
Oh and let’s add a trade war with Mexico onto that as well. That’s not enough?? Okay fine, a trade war with the entire world.
Economy
Okay we get it, the economy is tanking and even putting aside laying blame, it needs to be fixed. So what does Obama do? He appoints a tax cheat to run the Treasury. And apparently to compensate appoints one of the best fiscal minds in Congress, Judd Gregg, to Secretary of Commerce. But then even though you publicly declare him as basically a fiscal genius, you ignore everything he says to the point that he feels compelled to quit.
Ok so as part of your excuse as to why you screwed up foreign policy, you claimed you were concentrating on the economy. So things should be going great there right?? After all, you made a lot of promises. Well as I said, you got a tax cheat leading the thing, but then months into your administration he’s still the ONLY one in the Treasury Department. Even our allies (or they were before you fucked it up) are complaing nobody is answering the phones at the Treasury Department.
The foundation of your economic recovery plans?? Using public funds to bail out private organizations. Giving more money to people that have already proven incapable of making good financial decisions. And massive spending that’s driving up an already large national debt to the point of unsustainability. Bailouts and stimulus are forced through Congress in the middle of the night without reading it, although we know it was loaded with pork instead of actual stimulus. And then as a result it has all sorts of horrific consequences, including driving our stock market to it’s lowest levels since the Carter administration. So what do you do to a failing economy?? Threaten them with more regulation.
Then acted shocked with the bill nobody read has all sorts of unintended consequences.
Leadership
A President is a leader for us, especially in dark times. He should exhibit confidence and ideally the public should sleep better knowing he’s sitting in that chair in the Oval Office, ready to act if necessary.
Instead we have Obama, who as a candidate gave speeches of Hope, but now as a President continuously declares the sky is falling and how shitting our economy is. Instead of making the public feel things will improve he talks about how things are going to get worse.
And he seems to follow a general pattern of “Do as I say, not as I do“. He lectures the citizens of the Capitol that they need to toughen up. He lectures the nation that we just can’t afford to set our thermostats to seventy any more. Then he cranks up the thermostat in the Oval Office high enough to grow orchids.
And instead of concentrating on reviving our flagging economy, which he claims to be doing instead of foreign policy, he’s instead throwing parties, picking NCAA picks and going on talk shows. And while he defended his talk show appearance by saying he can concentrate on more than one thing at a time, he used the excuse of concentrating on the economy for why he was screwing up foreign policy.
General
He’s quickly becoming the TelePrompter President, as he apparently is unable to go anywhere without it. He can’t even do a press conference with one. Big boys don’t need training wheels Mr. President, time to take a step out of the little league. But then again, maybe it’s for the best…when he’s not using it he says all sorts of stuff…like insulting the disabled.
Most notable of his failures and lack of competence of his extraordinary number of botched appointments. And even the ones that make it through, are apparently unaware of what their actual job is.
And then there was a move that was just straight incompetence, such that even Jon Stewart had to ask, “What the fuck were you thinking?“ That idea was that it was a good cost saving measure to not pay for the health care of veterans suffering from combat related injuries. I can think of no context that this was an even remotely good idea.
Promises
Obama was famous for his flowery speeches and endless campaign promises. Too bad he hasn’t kept many of them. He’s continuing the “state secrets” privilege. Oh and there were windfall taxes. Sunlight before signing?? Hardly. Government transparency? Transparent as mud. Renditions…on they go. Not raising taxes?? FAIL.
Yes…on and on it goes, when it stops?? Well hopefully in four years, if he or we survives that long.

Keep pointing out what should be obvious, that EVERY decision Obama makes, or lets somebody else makes for him, is “above his pay grade” even though he continues to draw his paycheck and refuses to give it back.
I am reminded that the Clinton administration was better, in that they ADMITTED they were incompetent, often, though usually when the choice was between whether they were that or just plain criminal. Obama is more advanced. They do BOTH and don’t admit either.
