Regarding Ewing's original comment.

In my opinion, the Lacey Act is a good example of abuse of government. Making a felon out of someone for something as simple as possession of exotic fruit is ridiculous.

And regrading 527 and that firearms law you reference. Big hint for you, those signs were only valid with the original version of the personal carry law. Under the current law they carry ZERO legal weight.

Since the beginning of the Republic it has been thus.

Hey, do you think we can find a way to challenge every Congressional election for the last five years and demand a recount, with no one being seated until every vote has been counted and verified, and the legal challenges have been exhausted? That would buy us a few years of peace at least.

HRs 1, 7 and 19 are all good ideas, so they will likely never get out of committee, if that far.

HR 25 is the FAIR tax, and it is such a fantastically good idea that it has a fantastically small chance of even being noticed. Its principal flaw is that it eliminates the ability of Congress to reward friends, punish enemies and generally screw with society by tinkering with the tax code.

HR39 ANWR? I say anybody that wants to preserve it has to buy a piece of it and live there. Year round. Not even the caribou do that.

HR 52 Carp? Isn't that sort of shutting the barn door after the horse has gone? We've already got more dangerous and too-prolific carp clogging our waterways, and we're spending huge sums to control them. I recommend the Cambodian solution. Take the money being spent on eradication and publish a cookbook! Problem solved.

HR257 on firearms? You are exactly right. Ever since we passed that law in Minnesota allowing those "no guns allowed" signs to go up, not a single liquor or convenience store has been held up!
