Deep Thoughts With Kevin

Ok while I was out of town deer hunting, I was under an self-imposed embargo of any sort of news of the world that did not involve:
- The weather, particularly wind direction and speed, sunrise and sunset times, and temperature
- Wild game scores
- Viking games scores
In retrospect, I probably should have skipped that last one too. But now I’m back in town and I’m trying to catch up with the world. It’s been a little daunting. Lots of little tidbits I’ve picked up, few interesting story lines to follow. However, I’m already recovering from vacation, and my day at work has consisted of trying to figure out why a to remain undisclosed radar at a definitely undisclosed location is reporting an undisclosed number of aircraft who don’t actually exist, well you get a linky post!!
Economist announce we’ve been in a recession since April and it’ll last a total of 14 months….unless Obama does something….like how FDR extended the Great Depression with his New Deal.
Yes I realize I criticized the ability of President-Elect Messiah, therefore I am racist. I’ve come to terms with that.
Murdoch confirms what bloggers have pretty much been saying for years now….the old media is completely farked and the one chance they have at survival they aren’t likely to take.
Hmmmm, third parties have never looked so good and further proof that US politics could easily be more interesting. Australia now has the “Sex Party“. [Insert lame jokes about how it's a party you could get behind or whatever here.]
Dear Coleman campaign,
If you’re going to claim that Franken prepping for his potential role as Senator is presumptuous because the recount isn’t done, it is probably a good idea if you haven’t already declared yourself the winner before the recount is done. Something about hypocrites with black cooking utensils comes to mind.
Love,
Common Sense
According to Roseanne Barr, if you don’t agree with her, you deserve to be locked up in a Soviet gulag. On the plus side, according to Sen Durbin’s 2005 comments, those gulags are probably run by US soldiers so how bad could they be??
Well the Obama administration will be delivering change for sure. They will be the first administration, that I’m aware of, whose White House counsel has previously representing thugs, presidential assassins and terrorists. Then again there are some that might argue that this isn’t much of a change in his clientele.
More Change™ from the Messiah…previous administrations were content with just taking money and gifts from lobbyists. Obama will instead hire them to run his administration…..well it is change. He never said it would be GOOD change did he??
The. Most. F-ed. Up. Relationship. EVER……and you’re gonna need to take notes to keep the names and insanity straight. In my opinion everyone mentioned in this article needs to be sterilized….immediatly.
Awhile back I read the book Freakonomics, which if nothing else taught me that people ALWAYS respond to incentives, even if they are doing it unconsciously and even on the most unlikely of tasks…such as naming their child.
So it should be viewed with quite a bit of alarm when we see that the government is slowly taking away every incentive there is to actually pay your mortgage. As a responsible homeowner who is fully up to date on his mortgage I’m starting to think I might be the dumbass sucker in this whole deal.
Someone want to tell my why a bailout for automakers makes any sense or has any likelihood that it will work?? Seems to me they have an overabundance of expenses due to shitty deals they made with their unions. Unless they can dump those they are doomed to failure regardless. Seems like the best thing that could happen is let them go into Chapter 11 and restructure some of those agreements.
