EckerNet : Now Polluting Your Airwaves

October 31st, 2008 by Kevin

EckerNet will be spreading it’s filth via another medium this Saturday.  I’ll be on 1280 AM The Patriot from 3pm to 5pm this Saturday.  The normally rationale King and Michael will be discussing local races on their program.  Oddly enough, they’ve invited AAA from the North Metro and myself from the South Metro onto their program.  The fact that they invited us demonstrates how much they are scraping the bottom of the barrel on local talent.

If you’re still interested despite that ringing endorsement by all means tune in to 1280 AM the Patriot this Saturday (11/1/08).  We’ll be on from 3pm to 5pm.  But don’t miss the Fraters and Hinderocker from 11am to 1pm and then Capt Ed and Mitch from 1pm to 3pm as well.

UPDATE: I’m on the air.  Wow…interesting.  Not some much nervous as completely clueless what I’m doing.  So far I’ve only been yelled at once.

UPDATE: Podcasts available….Hour 1 and Hour 2.

Deep Thoughts With Kevin

October 31st, 2008 by Kevin

gorp…

The infamous “Redistribution of Wealth” Obama interview

The fledgling Iraqi Air Force has completed it’s first mission.  News agencies reporting this?? 0.

According to Nancy Pelosi, bipartisanship means the Democrats get to do whatever they want.

Public Service Announcement : If you’re butchering deer in the kitchen of your restaurant, the Health Department would like to talk to you.

Stop me if you heard this one.  Two young Obama supporters walk into a GOP HQ and start macing everyone…. Eh, that’s about it, no punchline, pretty piss poor joke I guess.

According to the Washington Post, having someone put a sticker on your campaign sign is totally the same as having your house spray painted with obscenities.  Huh, how about that….my bias detector just assploded.

Stick a fork in ‘em.  GM just killed the Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban and Escalade.  Terminating four long standing popular vehicles seems a bit drastic.  Anyone else get the sense that GM is in more trouble than they admit?

Fred Thompson for RNC chair?? Well he did a pretty God awful job of managing his primary campaign.  On the other hand he’s an excellent policy wonk and great at advocacy.  If we can have someone else do the “store manager” type duties and have Fred Thompson just do the leadership end, then great.

On the other hand Republicans aren’t doing that great without Thompson either.  Is it just me or is having a “strategy session” AFTER the election kinda stupid?

So when they hanged an effigy of Palin it was just good clean “Halloween Fun“.  Many asked if that would apply if someone hung an effigy of Obama.  Well now we know. The answer is no, it’s “embarassing”, “deeply offensive” and “hateful”.  Nope, no double standard here!

So how is the economic downturn and low oil prices affecting Russia, Iran and Venezula??  Here’s some good analysis.

Someone who is seeing signs of a McCain victory….I won’t go so far to call them delusional, we’ll have to see.

A St. Olaf professor bragging about stealing McCain campaign signs??

Environmental data is not matching Global Warming theories….scientists completely baffled.  Global Warming being total bullshit apparently has not occurred.

Japan…producing 78% of the world’s weird shit since 1952…including the fact that they are trying to make it legal for a person to marry a cartoon character.

Great, House Democrats are about to kill your 401K and force you to double down on Social Security instead.  That includes killing any tax benefits, employer matching funds, and any decent sort of interest rate.

Halloween Costume

October 29th, 2008 by Kevin

A bald man with a wooden leg is invited to a Halloween party.  He doesn’t know what costume to wear to hide his head and his leg so he writes to a costume company to explain his problem.  A few days later, he received a parcel with the following note:

Dear Sir,

Please find enclosed a pirate’s outfit. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head and, with your wooden leg, you will be just right as a pirate.

Very truly yours,

Acme Costume Co.

The man thinks this is terrible because they have emphasized his wooden leg and so he writes a letter of complaint. A week goes by and he receives another parcel and a note, which says:

Dear Sir,

Please find enclosed a monk’s habit.  The long robe will cover your Wooden leg and, with your bald head, you will really look the part.

Very truly yours,

Acme Costume Co.

Now the man is really upset since they have gone from emphasizing his wooden leg to emphasizing his bald head so again he writes the company another nasty letter of complaint.  A few day’s later he gets a small parcel and a note, which reads:

Dear Sir,

Please find enclosed a bottle of molasses and a bag of crushed nuts.  Pour the molasses over your bald head, pat on crushed nuts, stick your wooden leg up your ass and go as a caramel apple.

Very truly yours,

Acme Costume Co

Farting Your Way To Good Health

October 29th, 2008 by Kevin

New studies show that a stinky fart is just the bodies way of keeping your blood pressure low.

The new research found that cells lining mice’s blood vessels naturally make the gas and this action can help keep the rodents’ blood pressure low by relaxing the blood vessels to prevent hypertension (high blood pressure). This gas is “no doubt” produced in cells lining human blood vessels too, the researchers said.

“Now that we know hydrogen sulfide’s role in regulating blood pressure, it may be possible to design drug therapies that enhance its formation as an alternative to the current methods of treatment for hypertension,” said Johns Hopkins neuroscientist Solomon H. Snyder, M.D., a co-author of the study detailed in the Oct. 24th issue of the journal Science.

In related news, the Drunkguy division of MN Militia Inc has announced the upcoming release of it’s new blood pressure medication, tentatively named “Seven Meat Chili”.  Extensive tests of a less potent variation of the medication have resulted in very large releases of hydrogen sulfide.  The medications benefits are greatly increased when combined with copious quantities of beer.

This new seven meat chili is likely to gon on sale soon by MN Militia members near you.

Finance Reports Are In…

October 29th, 2008 by Kevin

The Minnesota Pre-General Election Campaign Finance reports were due yesterday (10/27/08).  They are now available online here.

These are mostly viewed by political wonks trying to figure out what other candidates are doing or looking for shenanigans by their opponents.  But it is a tool that more of the general public should use.  You get to see how expensive politics really is and why candidates and political parties are so anxious for your money.  Making your case to the public is expensive business.

On that note, I should probably point out that those of you that haven’t made your PCR contribution yet still have time.  What is PCR?? Well I’ll tell you.

PCR stands for Political Contribution Refund, and is a program run by the state of Minnesota.  Basically you can contribute money (max $50 per person) to a political party and/or candidate and the state will refund all or a portion of that contribution.  Basically once you get the receipt for your donation, you will out a silly little form from the state (available here) and then send it in to the address provided on the form.  You get your money back in a couple weeks.

Basically you can consider it a very short term loan to the political party/candidate of your choice.  Costs you nothing, but the candidate/party appreciates it immensely.  Most people don’t even know about this program so I’m guessing alot of you haven’t taken advantage yet.

And if you’re looking for a place to send that money, I’d recommend here, but then again, I’m biased.  That is my BPOU so it’s money I’ll have a hand in spending…but I assure you it’ll go towards getting more conservatives (not RINOs) into the MN State House and getting rid of some awful liberals.

But really any conservative party unit/candidate you send it to is going to make me happy.

Judgement You Can Believe In

October 28th, 2008 by Kevin

General Colin Powell certainly had some interesting things to say in court when testifying for convicted felon Senator Stevens (R - Bridge to Nowhere).

One of the nation’s best-known retired Army generals, Colin Powell, described Sen. Ted Stevens in court today as a “trusted individual” and a man with a “sterling” reputation.

“He was someone whose word you could rely on,” said Powell, secretary of state in President Bush’s first term, who self-deprecatingly described himself as someone who retired as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and then “dabbled a bit in diplomacy.”

That Powell, definitely a great judge of character.  With judgement like that, how could doubt anyone else he endorses….say for president.

Tara Mack For MN House

October 28th, 2008 by Kevin

Currently my Minnesota House District is represented by the disaster known as Rep. Madore.  Fortunately, this election I have a much better option in the form of one Tara Mack.  And thanks to her wide support her campaign has generated she has put together a television commercial, which is airing on Charter.

I wish her the best in the next election.  It would be nice to have a representative that doesn’t see me as a human ATM.

Stevens Convicted

October 28th, 2008 by Kevin

Good riddance to a complete asshat.

Having a Democrat win that seat would be worth getting rid of his corruption and arrogance.  If there is any disappointment it’s in Alaskan Republicans for continuing to nominate this complete trainwreck for the past 40 years.

He’ll probably get no actual jailtime but at least we can get rid of him….unless Alaska actually votes in a convicted felon as one of their US Senators.
