Biden Stepping Down? If So, Not Anymore

September 25th, 2008 by Kevin

I\’ve received this email from no less than four different people today alone:

I received the email below from a trusted source. We need to take action if we want to stop this Democrat grand manipulation\’ from happening. Let me share some info with you that i have gotten from excellent sources within the DNC:

On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.

There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info. generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have already seen a few short blurbs about this – the \’health problem\’ cited in those articles was aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings.

However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like this obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get out in front of this obama maneuver, spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.

So, let\’s start mixing this one up and cut the obamites off at the pass – send this info out to as many people as you can – post about it on websites and blogs – etc etc

Now certainly discussion on whether Obama will eventually replace Biden with someone less moronic has been an increasingly popular topic. And I\’d argue not with out reason, especially this last week as he appears to be almost willfully sabotaging the Obama campaign. And apparently the Gaffed One continues his antics.

So while I would normally just dismiss such notions as spam or at best, wishful thinking, I guess I wasn\’t sure it would NOT be the case. From the way the campaign has gone for him, it would certainly be the smart move. Problem is that it’s only been done once and it’s a huge risk, and politics is not a field that risk-taking people gravitate towards.

However, now that this topic has gone viral, I think that if there were truth to this story, there most certainly isn\’t anymore. Instead, Obama is pretty much limited to what he\’s doing now….telling Biden to shut the hell up.

Too Good To Be True…Unless It\’s Joe Biden

September 24th, 2008 by Kevin

When reading the quotes below, Joe Biden is the qualified half of the Democrat\’s ticket. In talking with Katie Couric, Joe Biden had this to say on the President\’s response:

“When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed. He said, ‘look, here’s what happened.’”

Huh….granted my parents weren\’t even alive during that time and I did learn history in the public school system, but here\’s the dates are I remember them.

August 2nd, 1923 – President Coolidge takes office, following the death of President Harding
March 4th, 1929 – President Hoover takes office
October 24th, 1929 – Black Thursday
October 29th, 1929 – Black Tuesday
1930 – First mass produced television introduce (although not widely available until late 1930s, and not popular until after WWII)
March 4th 1933 – President Roosevelt takes office

Given that timeline, it seems rather unlikely that ANY president appeared on television when the stock market crash, much less President Roosevelt. Especially since at the time Franklin Roosevelt was too busy being Governor Roosevelt….and even then, wouldn\’t have appeared on TV.

Given his rather consistent inability to not embarass himself whenver speak, I don\’t think it\’s stretch to predict that Vice President Biden will never go on ANY medium talking about ANYTHING. Especially since at the time he\’ll probably be too busy being \”that crazy guy that ran for Vice-President once but now just molests collies\”.

Actually maybe I should go easy on the guy. He apparently has enough of a problem remember what his own running mate thinks, much less historical events. And that\’s in addition to when he\’s criticizing his own campaign\’s ads.

Towards the end of the primary battle between Obama and Hillary, people started wondering just who Bill Clinton was campaigning for since his repeated blunders were hurting Hillary more than helping. Biden apparently feels it necessary to out-Bill Bill, as he has quickly become one of the greatest advocates for McCain.

Only time we ever hear about Biden anymore is when he\’s screwing up and hurting Obama. It\’s a wonder that Obama even lets him off his leash anymore, much less out of the house.

Kevin For MOB Mayor

September 24th, 2008 by Kevin

Learned Foot, MOB Secretary of State (for life), has announced the beginning of the new campaign season to elect a new mayor of the MOB. So it\’s time to begin my annual campaign to be elected to the MOB. Typically my campaign strategy has consisted of threatening to shoot every other candidate. That hasn\’t worked so far….let\’s try bitter mud throwing:

King Bananaman (incumbent) – We had an economist as a mayor and the economy still went to hell. Time to boot him out and replace him with someone that can barely balance his checkbook.

Iron Matron – All she does is post naughty pictures….talents like that shouldn\’t be wasted as mayor.

JRoosh – He can\’t even run his own blog, he has to piggyback off someone else. Can he really run the MOB?? I think not.

Bobo – He\’s a monkey….which admittedly makes him more qualified than these other fools.

Teaparty – Do we really want a tea-sipping pansy as mayor?? The other MOBs would never let it die.

Margaret Martin – Her job is keeping an eye on David Strom, if she gets distracted running the MOB who knows what shenanigans Strommy could get into.

Andy Applecowski – That fuzzy head hides a head that can\’t spell. If he can\’t even write and can\’t even control his razor, can we really trust him with the leadership of the MOB?

Capt Ed – Is HotAir even technically a MOB blog???

The Nightwriter – His wife is a Reverend and his future son-in-law is in the seminary. Ever heard of separation of church and state?

Lady Logician – It\’s the Minnesota Organization of Blogs….she doesn\’t even live in Minnesota anymore.

Which brings me to my qualifications….which are mostly none, but at least I\’m not as bad as the yahoos listed above. I got that campaign strategy from the MN GOP, so that\’s gotta work right??

Draft Watch

September 23rd, 2008 by Kevin

During both the 2000 and 2004 elections, liberals declared that if elected/re-elected Bush would institute a draft. They declare it was necessary to accomplish one or more of the following:

  • New World Order
  • Iraq War
  • Operate the prisoner camps that would dot the landscape
  • Ensure sufficient production of Barbie playhouses
  • Vanquish Dick Cheney

However, despite repeated promises and our vigilant watch for a draft of any kind, none has yet materialized. Despite there only being a few months left in his term, since the liberals were so adamant, we have to assume Bush is just doing a really good job of writing up the draft before declaring a coup and taking over the world. Either that or liberals are lying out there ass to exploit the fears of young people….nah couldn\’t be.

And we assume it\’s only a matter of time before McCain is accused of wanting a draft as well.

UPDATE : Never mind….McCain has already been accused. We\’re sure they are just as truthful about McCain as they are about Bush. Honestly….trust them!

EckerNet Exclusive : Joe Biden Might Molest Collies

September 23rd, 2008 by Kevin

I\’d like to thank SNL and the Obama campaign for setting the new low for political discourse. On Saturday, SNL aired a sketch that among other things suggested that Todd Palin may be committing incest with his daughters. Obama has so far had no comment.

In related news, EckerNet.Com has determined that Joe Biden may or may not molest collies!!* We were shocked at this as well. It\’s truly a groundbreaking revelation. Now admittedly this may not be true, but I\’ve seen no evidence to the contrary.

However, to support this claim we do have SOME circumstantial** information.

Ever noticed how much Senator Joe Biden looks an awful lot like Judge Smails (of Caddyshack fame)??

\"Senator vs \"Judge

Amazing…it\’s just eerie. For all we know, they are the same person!!!***

By their own statements, liberals accept Hollywood as the pinnacle example of truth and the ideal of what America should be and what Americans should be like. And in the movie Caddyshack, a movie which any self-respecting American will have memorized, Ty Webb (Chevy Chase) clearly makes reference to Judge Smails having the peculiar habit of \”molesting collies\”. Since it\’s source is Hollywood, I\’ll assume this accusation is beyond dispute.

So given that a person who may or may not actually be Joe Biden, has been accused by reliable source of \”molesting collies\”, I can only assume that is the case.

EckerNet.Com calls on Obama to dismiss his Collie molesting running mate, or at the very least modify his presidential platform to reflect this new principle. We\’d also ask for the sake of decency, ask that he donate at least $50 million to animal shelters within 50 miles of Biden\’s residence.

* Yes this is a parody and is not actually true. If you thought it was real you are the idiot and deserve to be molested by collies.***

** Completely bullshit

*** No they aren\’t dumbass.

**** I\’m not actually advocating collies molest you…just that you deserve it.

Dialing It In

September 22nd, 2008 by Kevin

In my BPOU, I have the dubious honor of being the \”tech\” guy. Among my other \”duties\” has included the design, operation and maintenance of our database of our district. The idea being that having this database makes us more efficient and effective in our communications and organization.

Among the more valuable pieces of information has been email addresses. It\’s a non-intrusive way of distributing information, setting up events, and getting feedback. And more important for a non-profit, it\’s free!*

Well thanks to Obama\’s much lampooned 3AM announcement of \”the other Vice Presidential candidate\”, it appears as if I might not be thinking creatively

But this may seem like a genius move come November, since the campaign can use that same database to send \”get out and vote\” reminders directly to voters nationwide on election day. Messages can be targeted by area code and exchange to boost turnout in marginal states and districts.

Well hell… Get out the vote efforts require lots of volunteers, lots of volunteer time and really aren\’t that much fun. This would be a great work-around on all three counts.

One possible drawback would be the ultimate cost. Let\’s say you got the phone numbers of 1000 people in each district, you\’re still looking at $50 just in text messages. But realistically that\’s a fairly minimal costs and you\’re likely to spend at least that in refreshments/food alone for your volunteers the standard way.

One very real drawback is whether it works or not. To determine that would probably require it to be used on a widescale, but it\’s worth considering it\’s potential. The standard way involves phone calling, but people quickly learn to just stop answering their phones on Election Day. Plus it tends to irritate people after all, and you don\’t want your voters irritated at you. Text messages I would suspect would not generate the same irritation but at the same time, it\’s something that people are going to look it. Whether they act on it any more or less than a phone call is probably the determining factor, but it seems like a worthy idea.

* Well technically not free, it costs us money to lease use of a server and it requires some of my time to do it.

National POW/MIA Recognition Day

September 19th, 2008 by Kevin

In addition, President Bush has also declared September 19th, National POW/MIA Recognition Day:

On National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor the brave and patriotic Americans who were held as prisoners of war, and we remember those who are still missing in action. For their valor and selfless devotion to protect the country they love, our Nation owes them a debt we can never fully repay. On this day we underscore our commitment and pledge to those who are still missing in action and to their families that we will not rest until we have achieved the fullest possible accounting for every member of our Armed Forces missing in the line of duty.

To observe this important day, the National League of Families POW/MIA flag is flown over the Capitol, the White House, the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and other locations across our country. The flag is a solemn reminder of our Nation\’s enduring obligation and promise to our courageous service members who remain missing and a tribute to those who have been imprisoned while serving their country in conflicts around the world.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Friday, September 19, 2008, as National POW/MIA Recognition Day. I call upon the people of the United States to join me in honoring and remembering all former American prisoners of war and those missing in action for their valiant service to our Nation. I also call upon Federal, State, and local government officials and private organizations to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this seventeenth day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand eight, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.

GEORGE W. BUSH

Observe as appropriate
