Your one word description of the convention is dead on. I knew it would be messy, but underestimated how just how far the 'leadership' would go. Carey is a tyrannical, power hungry RINO.
As conservatives, it should be our mission to vote him the hell out of the state chair position next year.
Hopefully, we can put a real conservative there.

Ron Paul was 2nd (McCain last) in my precinct and states straw poll.He was the only pres. candidate to talk at the convention.Obviously any tactics are OK to get a liberal GOP canidate

Both sides were guilty of various improprieties, but for the first time convention goers who were there because of the Paul campaign (like myself) it was an education. There are always going to be differences in opinion out there, but I was surprised by the manner in which the party leadership decided to resolve those differences. I had resigned myself to make this weekend my last, formal stand in opposition of the party’s endorsement of McCain. Now I find myself asking if it was this past weekend or will it now be the first Tuesday in November :?:

All of this was necessary because of the RPers tactics. They whined and complained about everything. ie "I didn't know this, nobody told me that." I got the same information. I almost threw out the letter that had a 1 page-what to do if I wanted to be a delegate. Most of their complaining is because they wanted to highjack the delegate slots. So their main beef was with the nominating/selection committee. Was their review subjective & selective? Absolutely but should we have been subjected to some 300 1 minute speeches and countless ballots. Not every girl gets to be judged in the big beauty contest. Keep in mind do you honestly believe had every rube got their chance to say something at the microphone it would have gone quicker? That line grew with questions, and got longer with objections...and those objections were coming no matter what. Vote...lose, Standing vote...lose(overwhelmingly)Count vote...c'mon! Their whole goal was to win by attrition, to stick to their guns, their slate, and frustrate the majority by being relentless. These were not a victimized minority. Congratulations they know how to play the game, it doesn't make them right or representative of much but themselves, again has Ron Paul won anything? This was the Tyranny of the minority is action.

Tony - Thanks for your commment.
It added a laughter to my day. I wish I would have seen the Paul supporter following the McCain supporter with the sign.
Sounds hilarious.

Raymond - Yes the wishes of the majority should prevail. However, the opinions of the minority should at least be heard.

And in the case of the Ron Paul people, some of them we will agree with, other items we'll find repulsive. So what's the harm??

End result is that since the party leadership wouldn't allow them to be heard we chewed up much more time dealing with their objections than it would have taken had we just let them be heard.
