Boo-friggin-hoo….Ron Paul is upset that the Republican party isn’t beating down his door to plead for his support and those of his supporters. Excuse me if I say so what??
Ok first of all let me say I’m glad he has such energetic supporters, if they want to join the Republican party they are welcome, but there is absolutely no reason that the Republican party should come crawling to them when they clearly represent a fringer of the electorate. An energetic fringe to be sure, but clearly a fringe. Why destroy our ability to appeal to most of the country to appeal to a few select few spam bots??
Because honestly, let’s look at what Ron Paul brings to the table….
Conspiracy Theories : Come on the guy is a 9/11 truther….
Bigotry or Complete Incompetence : Yeah, nothing like being racist to appeal to the masses. Yeah, I know I’ve heard all the excuses, but ultimately it comes down to this. Either he knew about it and didn’t object, in which case he’s a closet racist and unfit for office. Or he didn’t know and therefore allowed people he barely knew to publish articles under his name for decades, in which case he’s just f-ing stupid to be in office.
Gold Standard : Seriously, Ron you bore everyone to tears and you come of sounding like a complete kook. Yeah yeah yeah, your utopian vision sounds possibly appealing but it’s not realistic. But the fact that you think it’s plausible makes us question your sanity.
Eliminate our national intelligence agencies : Yeah wonderful. We’re in the middle of a global war on terror, let’s put on a blindfold and put in earplugs. I’m sure everyone will just leave us alone then. Ron, your view of the world was proven outdated on December 7th, 1941. Isolationism is no longer an option.
Iraq : Pull out troops now no matter what. Yeah, this should end well.
So yeah, once again if you want to join the Republican Party, by all means do so. We welcome you, we’re just not going to gut the party just to appeal to your kooky deranged view of the world. You want to chase UFOs that’s your business.

For someone so astute in political matters it would seem you are very ignorant, mis-informed, and uneducated not only with history but with basic economics as well.

Gold standard not realistic? The current non-gold inflationary Keynesian economic mindset set up by Repub. tricky Dick is no more realistic than all other idiotic Gov. and Fed economic schemes. Please enlighten us with your new economic theory or Gov. imposed mandate to reverse the current trend.
Eliminate our intelligence agencies? where was that ever on the RP platform or in specific statements made by him? RP has never advocated isolationism. Indeed isolationism is not the same as NON-interventionism, check your dictionary. I would refer you to “kooky” Switzerland, certainly not isolationist, without any entangling alliances and the oldest democracy in Europe. It was uniquely was not involved in WW1 or WW2 while the rest of the continent was busy slaughtering itself as an example. Dec 7th occurred not because we were isolationist but because of our intervention in Asian affairs prior to the attack.
Iraq Pull out? Yes this is one of your correct assertions and yes it will end extremely well for us. No more US, or for that matter our own MN troops, slaugthered needlessly by being forced to civilize savages into a political system that is beyond thier capacity to grasp both intellectually and morally.
Unfortunately the “deranged view of the world” is precisely what is wrong with the current status quo of party and the Dems as well. The party has lost its way and betrayed its roots and core philosophies. It was never a Republican platform to build a world empire. Research the party’s history.

Destroy your ability to “appeal” to most of the country? How do you propose to do that without smearing and misrepresenting others in the process and with what kind of candidate?
After all Hilter was very “appealing” to the German voters that voted him in “democratically”!

I’ve never been a fan of McCain, using him as a defense is no defense at all.
Bigotry? The racist ravings of Ron Pauls newsletter have already been well publicized.
Conspiracy Theories, despite his half-assed denials and stepping around the question he has openly embraced the tin-foil hat crowd.
We moved beyond the gold standard long ago. It would be next to impossible to go back to it. I applaud dreaming, but you also have to be realistic. Raving about agendas that just aren’t going to happen just make you delusional not a serious leader.
Ron Paul has advocated gutting our intelligence agencies multiple times. This is not the time nor is it likely to ever be the time.
And I think your condescension of the Iraqi people is quite beneath any rational debate. Pulling the troops out at this point would devolve that region into a terrorists free-for-all. With our troops there now, things are improving and time is on our side now.
