You Have Been Volunteered…

February 4th, 2008 by Kevin

…and you are showing up to Precinct Caucuses. No excuses, no absences permitted.

So here’s what’s gonna happen, until Tuesday, you’re gonna go here every day and learn about what precinct caucuses are and how they work. There will be a quiz on this.

On Tuesday, you’re gonna figure out where your precinct caucus is by going here.

At 7:00 on Tuesday, you will show up at the precinct location and participate, mostly you’ll be doing the following:

Presidential Ballot - You’ll be asked to vote for someone besides John McCain, to be the Republican nominee for President

Vote on Delegates/Alternates - You’re gonna vote for the people that decide how the party is going to work…..or at least in theory, that’s how it works. If you are so inclined to be one of those people, then do it. If you’re not inclined, do it anyway. HEH! Don’t talk back to me, this is my blog, you’re following my rules.

Vote for Precinct Officers - So you’re gonna vote for precinct officers, which are the people that organizes events/volunteers in their area. If you’ve ever wondered why the people in your area voted for something really stupid, it’s probably cause you didn’t help your precinct officers beat the stupid people unconscious…and thereby unable to vote. Here’s your chance to get to know them so you can help.

Resolutions - You can submit resolutions to change the Party Platform, which is basically a list of principles and issue positions, that our elected Republicans will routinely ignore and even some delegates will profess complete ignorance of. However, it does serve as a good platform to bitch about RINOs, so you’ll want to throw in your $0.02.

There those are your tasks, show up for a few hours, participate or stop bitching when it come to election day and you don’t like your options. Plus people like myself, have put in alot of work on them. And then there are even more people, who should be registered clinically insane for the amount of work they’ve put in. I don’t want to embarrass them, but at least one’s name rhymes with “J. Ewing”.

Ok so now that I’ve planned out your Tuesday night, I’m done. I’ll be back with your Wednesday night itinerary tomorrow.

And yet I still have time to read your blog….

And to comment on subjects like energy production. Yours is one example. I like these guys:

I’m also impressed with the new solar cell technology that weighs and costs 1/10 of current technologies, making it practical for residential use, with payback of just 2 years (4 years in Minnesota).

My point continues to be that if we can just keep the government OUT of the energy business, the free market will supply us with inexpensive, near-limitless energy instead of vast shortages of highly-taxed and expensive mandated “solutions.”
