Deep Thoughts With Kevin

February 11th, 2008 by Kevin

I\’m beginning to like this format of post. Mostly because it requires no thought, but also because it clears my browser of the dozens of \”To-Do\” tabs. So here is another edition of linky goodness.

\"bullet\" The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which runs airport security, has started a blog to \”facilitate an ongoing dialogue on innovations in security, technology and the checkpoint screening process.\” Yeah, this should go well. Stop by and leave your complaints, or read the plethora of negative comments.

\"bullet\" Oh goody, now in addition to causing traffic accidents the world over, cellphones will now serve a national security purpose. Combined with their GPS abilities, our cellphones may soon serve as a national network of radiation detectors, suitable for detecting and tracking \”dirty bombs\”. Presumably this will be one more reason why I\’m not allowed to take the cellphone from the 15-year old girl loudly complaining how her english teacher is \”like, so not fair\” and cram it where the sun don\’t shine.

\"bullet\" Can someone please tell me why some American students are being forced to learn Spanish?? Didn\’t illegals cross the border and come to the US (illegally). Did I miss a meeting?? Was Dallas annexed by Mexico and I didn\’t notice?? When did we approve this?? Couldn\’t we have given them California and/or New Jersey instead??

\"bullet\" Old&Busted : Global Warming, New&Sexy : Global Cooling. Or at least that will be the case if the sun doesn\’t turn things around. If the sun doesn\’t ramp up activity within the next year, we enter an ice-age. Presumably Al Gore will use this more evidence of global warming, right up until Floridians beat him to death with icicles.

\"bullet\" What if McCain picked Fred Thompson for his Vice Presidential candidate? This is not exactly a ringing endorsement for McCain :

\”I\’d pray for McCain\’s health to fail quickly!\”

\"bullet\" The DNC\’s prepared anti-McCain talking points jump on board the Fact Check Express and promptly derail.

\"bullet\" Bainbridge makes a rather convincing case on why conservatives should trust McCain on judges. The Judicial Electoral Trump Card is now in play. EckerNet\’s McCain Trifecta now complete.

\"bullet\" Attorney\’s challenging the DC gun ban have filed their brief with the US Supreme Court. Bonus : It\’s in english, not legalese. In addition, as reported by SITD, 55 Senators and 250 House Representatives have filed a friend-of-the-court brief in opposition to the gun ban. Despite this construction on the MN Militia bunker continues at a fevered pace.

\"bullet\" The presidential candidate speech I\’ve been waiting to hear….

I was driving east on Independence Avenue the other day. On the right, I first saw the Department of Agriculture. It has more employees than there are farmers in the United States. Then I saw the Department of Energy, which has never produced a single watt of electricity.

Then I saw the Department of Transportation — they don\’t move anyone anywhere, and if you go inside and ask for directions, they won\’t even be able to help with that. Then there was the Department of Education, which has never helped a single child learn a darned thing.

My friends, this is what happens when the Congress begins doing what it is not authorized to do under the Constitution. It overtaxes you and it wastes the money. If we were to raze that whole part of Washington to the ground, almost no one would notice. I promise to do so if elected president. In fact, we\’ll sell those buildings as condos and use the money to pay down our debt.

Thank you for your support, and God Bless America.
