Well, Two Is Better Than Nothing

October 12th, 2007 by Kevin

These days, it seems like there is a Republican disappointing conservatives around every bathroom stall. If they aren’t compromising their principles, they’re running from a fight, or just plain being a spineless weasel. And Minnesota has more than it’s fair share of them. From our Senator to our Governor to our state legislators, over the Mississippi River and through Lake O’ The Woods, to Liberal Land they go.

However, it is nice to see there are at least a couple Republicans out there that don’t roll over every time someone so much as looks at him funny.

Congresswoman Bachman and Congressman Kline have been getting beaten up in the press lately over their votes against authorization of the expanded SCHIP program. Look for Congressman Kline’s deconstruction of the attacks (and the SCHIP program) in the local press in the next few days.

Keep tuned to True North, as we will be sure to update you with the latest.

Which isn’t to say that the deconstruction of the attacks is going to really need to be that spectacular, as this is one of the most transparently awful bills I’ve ever seen. Mostly I’m interested in how Kline is going to get past “Oh come on people, I mean have you read this [thing] ?? Seriously?!“. Because that’s usually were I get stuck and toss up my hands in frustration.
