They Wouldn’t DREAM Of It Would They?

September 12th, 2007 by Kevin

Previously I’ve been keeping an eye on H.R. 2419, the Farm Bill, for the addition of a certain AgJobs piece of legislation. As it turns out the amnesty advocates have opened a second front, although I apparently missed it’s creation. An Senate amendment 2237 has been offered for HR 1585, the National Defense Authorization Act, by Senator Dick Durbin.

The DREAM Act has many forms and versions, but basically grants amnesty to anyone that has graduated from a US High School. However, it has enough loopholes that if you’ve ever looked at a school or know someone who has, you probably qualify for amnesty under at least one of it’s tenets.

While Feinstein and her cronies, have promised passage of the AgJobs amendment, it remains to be seen how strong support is for this DREAM Act amendment in the Senate. I don’t have much faith considering our Senate’s rather dismal record on the immigration front.

All in all, yet another reason not to trust our legislators despite their claims that they have our best interests in mind.

We definetely need to be wary, as our leaders have shown their willingness to try and sneak such legislation past us in the form of any unrelated bill they can find. I find these tactics to be unscrupulous in the extreme. Thanks for keeping an eye out.
