Dear Aliens : Where Is Our President And What Have You Done With Him?

July 10th, 2007 by Kevin

Goodness almight, this can’t be the same Bush that we elected in 2000.  Clearly the most rational explanation is the an alien culture flew 689325 bagizillion miles across space, no doubt passing thousands of more interesting planets, just to abduct our President and replace him with a political inept floozy.  I mean what the hell has happened to the political machine that used to be the Bush administration??

Hell let’s go down just this terms list

  • Spending out of control
  • Botched decisions in the war
  • Dubai Ports
  • Harriet Miers
  • Cronyism
  • Katrina
  • Pardoning Libby but not two border guards that were imprisoned for doing their job
  • Immigration

Oh that wasn’t enough, there was still maybe two or three people that trusted you, so what do you do?? Publicly respond to a 13-year girl with enough sarcasm that she cries.  What the hell?? Have you lost any sense of political awareness, much less basic decency??

Heh Bush, I think there might still be a catholic that likes you somewhere, why don’t you go ridicule the Pope’s hat or something??

I don’t quite see what the big deal is. One can just as easily read his comment as being self-deprecatory, a wry comment on his own chagrin at the political loss. In that case, it was not directed at the young lady (and he seemed very quick to sense her mood and try to make her feel better) but at himself. Or at least, the situation. And she reacted the way many overly self-conscious teenagers would. I teach this age group. They are completely ego-centric and filter everything through the perception of how they look to others. Given that, she could have easily misunderstood the comment as being directed towards her.

Personally, I’m a bit tired of the trouncing President Bush is receiving at the hands of his own party. I don’t believe he’s perfect, nor do I maintain that he has not made mistakes, but I do believe that many are simply being worn down by the constant, non-stop criticism he has received from the MSM and Hollywood. I continue to support him and remain proud that I voted for him in both elections.

Oh, for Christ sake. He made an overly-sensitive little girl cry. It’s just like when we make you cry on camping trips.

Well that be well be, but the fact of the matter is this is politics. And political tides have risen and fallen on much more trivial events and as a veteran of this arena he should be aware of that.

As evidence of that you barely have to go back at all. Just look at the Dean Scream or George Allen’s Macaca Moment.

There is always a camera on you. My issue is not so much that the girl cried, as you point out she was an over-sensitive teen. My problem is it was basically a rookie mistake and midway through your second term is hardly the time for those. The learning curve is steeper than that, and he has shown himself alot smarter than that in the past.
