Ok I haven\’t really railed on Trent Lott a whole lot for his comments recently that basically talk radio was out of control and would have to be \”dealt with\”.  Fine whatever, I don\’t really have a horse in this race.  He\’s an idiot, if he wants to take on conservative talk radio that\’s his funeral, let me know where to send a dozen wilted roses.

But now he\’s basically attacking the common voter, by all but saying that your vote doesn\’t count for shit.

\”I\’ve had my phones jammed for three weeks. Yesterday I had three people answering them continuously all day,\” Lott said. \”To think that you\’re going to intimidate a senator or any senator into voting one way or the other by gorging your phones with phone calls — most of whom don\’t even know where Gulfport, Mississippi, is — is not an effective tactic. But it\’s their right to do that.\”

Heh Senator High&Mighty, remember you are supposed to represent us??  You remember us right?? The great unwashed masses that voted your sorry ass into office?  Your job is to represent us your state in the Senate.  If your state is calling you and telling you to do something in such great numbers that it\’s jamming your phone for three weeks, perhaps you better damn well do it!!!

I feel it necessary for me to correct a very incorrect belief you appear to have.

You are not special.

Sorry.  I know you think you\’re above the rest of us, but guess what.  You\’re not.  It\’s clear you don\’t understand your job and how to handle yourself in Washington DC.  You might start by listening to your colleague Senator Sessions.

\”Talk radio was sort of the watchdog on this,\” said Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.). \”Who else was watching out? Who else was reading the bill?\”

\”A decent respect for our constituents means when they have very serious problems with an important piece of legislation, perhaps we should back off,\” he said.

Senator Sessions appears to have a pretty good handle on his place in the world, something Senator Lott could learn.  In fact you probably should have learned that the last time the public smacked you down.  If you\’re not gonna learn it this time, perhaps you should hand in your resignation.  Because I think I speak for alot of Republicans when I say we\’re sick of listening to your ignorant bullshit.
