Happy New Year

January 1st, 2007 by Kevin

A happy New Year to everyone out there. I hope the new year brings great things to everyone. May everyone find joy and prosperity in the new year. And may good health follow everyone.
I hope everyone enjoyed their New Years festivities.

For my part I said goodbye to 2006 and hello to 2007 by cutting a hole in a lake and jumping in. Yeah, I\’ve never claimed to be an intelligent man.

\"Polar

The MN Militia cut the hole in the lake and then went inside for a few hours in order to lubricate our bravery with a few liquid refreshments. When we came back out, the hole was already frozen over pretty hard. That should have warned us that Mother Nature was not screwing around. Needless to say, we rarely respect her wishes.

After much prodding the hole was opened back up and we stepped into our icehouse/sauna in order to achieve a maximum temperature variation. For the record it was cold, and more than likely I am temporarily incapable of fathering children. I realized this liklihood when as I was walking towards the edge of the hole, I noticed that the water the person ahead of me had dripped on the ladder was already in the form of icicles.

We jumped in quite a few times….at least eight that I can remember, but there was alot of alcohol consumed between each jump. Like I already said, we\’ve never claimed to be the smartest guys on the planet.

Let us hope this new year grants me much more wisdom and common sense than the previous one did. Although, with the festivities necessary to regain a healthy body temperature, I think we might have killed those braincells already.

Oh well, Happy New Year anyway.

It might not be smart to jump into a frozen lake, but it’s fun! Happy new year and I hope your brain isn’t dead from your holiday exuberance.
