Kerry Apparently Continues His 2004 Campaign Of Disaster

October 31st, 2006 by Kevin

I’ve always thought that the best way to defeat Democrats is to just let them talk. Their policies and inner-most opinions have always been fairly unpopular with people. However, since they know that nobody would consciously support such ideas, they cover them in so much double-talk as to appear appealing.

However, if you let them talk long enough, they eventually let those inner thoughts through. And the most entertaining Democrats are the ones that do it most often. Kerry is their king.

You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.

Now most people would know enough to apologize for that statement, even if they really believed it. Not Kerry, he violates The First Rule of Holes*, by blaming Republicans for his hatred of the military. Instead, he has decided his best course of action is to cancel all his events for November 1st, 2006, effectively hiding behind the media that will whitewash his comments like the good little servants they are.

Look for this issue to die a quick death. Kerry is hiding, the media has gone into damage control mode. Democrats everywhere are cringing, but not denouncing his statements.

Incidentally one of the events cancelled was a fundraiser for Amy Kloubuchar in the Twin Cities. It’s actually pity it got cancelled as I would have liked to see what Amy has to say about Kerry’s comment. A real journalist would probably ask her anyway, but we all know there are none of those in Minnesota….except for maybe bloggers.

It Take A Village To Build A Fence

October 31st, 2006 by Kevin

Recently Bush conceded to Congressional Republicans and signed the Secure Fence Act of 2006. Since my strong feelings on immigration are apparently well known, several times comments such as “So Bush finally signed the bill you want huh?” have been said to me. I can’t disagree more.

This was not the bill I wanted.

This is just a step in the process of reforming immigration. While I expect it to accomplish very little in of itself, symbolically it is a very large step. Originally, Bush, Democrats and Senate Republicans held the House hostage by declaring that in order to get real steps towards reforming immigration, the House had to consent to amnesty. One of those real steps, and argueably the most public and symbolic was a border wall. By building the wall independent of anything else, the Bush and the Senate lose their biggest trump card and likely be unable to hold the House hostage.

So hopefully progress can be made without the Senate attempting to force the country into accepting amnesty….again, with claims that it will solve all our problems….again. Yet to make that progress, the pressure on politicians must endure. They must know that the public will not be satisfied with a few stretches of wire and a couple metal posts. Much work needs to be done.

While 700 miles of fence are to potentially be built, there is over 2000 miles on the southern border alone. But as I’ve said before, the fence it not the final solution. And regardless of the strawmen arguments put forth by amnesty supporters, nobody has ever claimed that the fence is the ultimate answer to immigration. It’s one cog in a very large machine.

I’ve already highlighted the concrete steps that need to be made to achieve success on immigration reform. The fence is the first step necessary. And as hard as it was to get to this point, the rest is even harder. It requires steps that will be unpopular to some part of the country.

Instead of being satisfied with a rusty chainlink fence, those in favor of REAL immigration reform need to redouble their efforts. Politicians can’t even take a shit unless the public opinion polls indicate it’s safe to do so. Until they perceive that the political climate is safe for them to take the steps necessary for progress on immigration it’s not going to happen. If they feel nobody is watching anymore, they’ll do nothing less they accidentally do something to draw negative attention.

Make sure your politicians know you haven’t forgotten this issue and you are paying attention. Let them know a fence isn’t going to satisfy your appetite for progress. Keep yourself informed and don’t be afraid to speak up.

We Shall Return

October 30th, 2006 by Kevin

“I came out of Bataan and I shall return”

-General Douglas MacArthur

This seems an apt quote to use as the MN Militia returns licking it’s wounds from our latest deployment.

In terms of having fun, this trip has to be rated as a success. However, in terms of accomplishing our mission of hunting down and slaughters roosters by the hundreds (or at least dozens), it was a dismal failure. To make matters worse, we suffered casualties in the process.

It became quite apparently that this type of hunt required tactics and manuevers which we have not previously trained for. It is the ultimate frustration to see flocks* of pheasant take to the skies about a half mile ahead of you, well outside your range of fire. Not to mention that a severe drought has reduced the pheasant population considerably.

To make matters worse, heavy losses were taken by our forces. To protect the “innocent” and preserve operational security, some details have been intentionally withheld.

One of our special forces (dogs) suffered a debilitating injury that we’re hoping will heal properly. Doesn’t seem to bother her much but it certainly alarmed the team physician upon our return.

Our return itself, was also briefly in doubt when the tricky pheasants used a decoy to disable our troop transport yesterday and leave us stranded roughly 15 miles south of Nowhere, SD. After some head-scratching, phone calls to a few experts were made. The resulting advice of “Go find a fence post or a downed tree and beat on it for awhile” actually gave us positive results and we were again on our way.

Which was fortunate because immediately preceding this, yours truly was the victim of a “friendly fire incident”. According to the doctors, it’s not as serious as it easily could have been, although permanent vs temporary damage will take about 2 months to determine.

Despite all of this, the troop was great fun and I can see why many people have become huge fans of South Dakota pheasant hunting. While we weren’t all that successful on this trip that only encourages us to improve our strategery for the next trip to SD in a few weeks. We’ve already begun this process.

In the meantime, deer hunting looms and our thoughts turn to slaughtering Bambi’s entire family. Fall is such a wonderful season….the crisp coolness of the air, colors of the trees, gunshots ringing out, blood on your hands, etc. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.

* - We were informed that a “flock of pheasants” is actually called a “bouquet of pheasants”

MN Militia On The Move

October 27th, 2006 by Kevin

For Immediate Release TO : Public FROM : Kevin, MN Miltia Communications Director and Executive Committee Member RE : Hostile Activities On Minnesota’s Borders Intelligence has indicated that there are lots and lots of pheasants approaching Minnesota. Right now they have deceitfully based themselves in South Dakota. The MN Militia by unanimous vote has decided to wage a pre-emptive campaign against the pheasants, especially the Cock (Rooster) Division, which is their best trained forces. An elite team of the MN Militia members depart for a recon mission in the near future. Hopefully they will be able to get an idea of the exact location of the main enemy force and determine the level of danger we face. We remind the public not to worry, as we have faithfully protected MN from wild game for many many years. To educate the public, we offer this recently declassified satellite photograph of one of the enemy operatives on the move. While it is difficult to view, we think it’s in the publics best interest to know what we face.

Wish us luck. Hope to return in a few days. I’d hate for my tombstone to read, “Died While Chasing A Rooster”….or something even more humiliating.

If You Believe It, They Will Come

October 27th, 2006 by Kevin

Reading through the latest craziness that our overadherence to tolerance and diversity has brought us. New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority has agreed to allow riders to use the rest room that is “consistent with their gender expression”. In other words, some guy thinks he’s a woman? Ladies room is that way sir. Never mind that all one has to do is watch the news on any given night to know there are enough people out there that would have no problem dressing up as a woman just so they could freely hang out in the ladies room.

But that’s not why I mention the article, I got to the very end and couldn’t help but give a laugh to the last portion.

But Rena Gantz, 23, a college student, shrugged off the settlement.

“It doesn’t bother me because it is a reality,” she said. “If they believe they are women, they should be treated as one.”

Wow. Well there it is right there. Regardless of what reality says, diversity and tolerance has been so brainwashed into this poor girl that she sees no potential for problem here. Afterall, it’s “reality”.

Don’t you get a little nostalgic for the days when your “reality” was safe and isolated enough that this view of the world wasn’t yet irresponsible or dangerous?

Of course, having written that, I’m starting to feel old. I gotta go dust off my video games before I start shopping online for a walking cane.

More Evidence Of “Fair Elections” From Democrats

October 27th, 2006 by Kevin

Well it’s not a local example, but it such events rarely get the attention they deserve so it’s worth pointing out.

Hundreds of bogus address changes have surfaced near St. Louis and the election board is warning voters to make sure they get a polling-place notification card.

If the card does not show up, a voter’s address may have been fraudulently changed, the county elections director said.

The bogus address changes are among fraudulent voter-registration cards turning up in St. Louis County within the past couple of months, The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported.

The bogus registrations included at least one dead person, officials said.

Most of the suspicious registrations and address changes were submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, known as ACORN, election officials said.

ACORN is a liberal activist group with chapters in over a hundred cities. We could hope this is an isolated incident, but then again ACORN is already well known for committing voter fraud, including right here in Minnesota. Of course this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, after all, when Democrats talk about fair elections we know what they really mean…..this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and my favorite.

ALF Strikes Again

October 26th, 2006 by Kevin

Animal-Loving Morons Yes, that's a bunny and a guinea pig they are holding. If you want to know to know what the picture above is all about, here's a taste…

Animal rights activists who broke into a circus to liberate a rare white tiger changed their minds after seeing it - and took a bunny rabbit instead.

That's just the start, check out the rest of the story. Of course my favorite part is

Skreinig said: "The pet rabbit was not even in the show, it belonged to our clown's six-year-old daughter."

Thanks to John Hawkins for finding the story.

Hatch Flip Flops On Illegal Immigration

October 26th, 2006 by Kevin

I love it when my theories come together. Just yesterday I argued that if the comprehensive immigration plan was so popular, why is it that all over the country candidates on both sides of the aisles are trying to pretend they are the toughest one on illegal immigration. Just today we have a great local example.

Today Mike Hatch released an ad accusing Tim Pawlenty of being soft on illegal immigration. Which is amusing considering Hatch’s past statements

Pioneer Press: Hatch “Bewildered By Governor Pawlenty’s Emphasis On Illegal Immigration.” “He’s bewildered by Pawlenty’s emphasis on illegal immigration, [Hatch] said, because governors ‘have nothing to do with that issue.’” (Bill Salisbury, “Clash of the Minnesota Political Titans?” Pioneer Press, November 20, 2005)

Hatch Believes The Governor of Minnesota “Has Nothing To Do With Illegal Immigrants.” “And while Pawlenty has recently drawn attention on illegal immigration, holding a public hearing in Worthington, it’s basically a federal issue. ‘The governor has nothing to do with illegal immigrants,’ [Hatch] said. ‘He can kick it all around he wants, but it’s a national policy.’” (”Hatch Brings Campaign For Governor To Bemidji,” Bemidji Pioneer, December 11, 2005)

Hatch Dismissed Attempts To Reform Illegal Immigration And Praised Illegal Immigration. “A report from Pawlenty’s office late last week showed the cost of illegal immigrants to state services, but Hatch said it failed to show positive attributes, such as providing low-cost labor and in paying taxes.” (”Hatch Brings Campaign For Governor To Bemidji,” Bemidji Pioneer, December 11, 2005)

So which is it Hatch?? Are you a liar or do you really support criminals???

[Quotes provided by the MN GOP]
