Back in April of last year upon hearing about how he saved the lives of 100 or more of his fellow soldiers and gave his life for them I wrote about Sgt. Smith. On that day, Sergeant First Class Smith was engaged in the construction of a prisoner of war holding area when his Task Force was violently attacked by a company-sized enemy force. Realizing the vulnerability of over 100 fellow soldiers, Sergeant First Class Smith quickly organized a hasty defense consisting of two platoons of soldiers, one Bradley Fighting Vehicle and three armored personnel carriers. As the fight developed, Sergeant First Class Smith braved hostile enemy fire to personally engage the enemy with hand grenades and anti-tank weapons, and organized the evacuation of three wounded soldiers from an armored personnel carrier struck by a rocket propelled grenade and a 60mm mortar round. Fearing the enemy would overrun their defenses, Sergeant First Class Smith moved under withering enemy fire to man a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on a damaged armored personnel carrier. In total disregard for his own life, he maintained his exposed position in order to engage the attacking enemy force. During this action, he was mortally wounded. Some people think it sucks because we didn’t get to kill him. I disagree. Nothing would be more trouble for the Pakastano government, or any of the other US friendly governments in the region if we had killed OBL in their countries. They too would be facing the jihad crap from the terrorist friendly states like Iraq is. If the report is true, and OBL did die of typhoid thi is a major achievement of the Bush doctrine. This would mean that the other nations who are helping the US track and hunt down terrorists are still on board. If OBL did die in Pakistan, then it is even a bigger achievement. If OBL died of typhoid it means he wasn’t living in the comfort of a base or stronghold of al Queda, but rather in some really less than secure conditions. He was in hiding, not leading his terror network. He was being forced to live in darkness. He was forced to hide in the darkest regions, which, if they did not have clean water, also did not have good contact to the outside world. Dead or alive before this, it is proof that the head of al Queda was not at the helm. So I was walking to the bus stop after work today when I saw a woman with an orange security blazer outside the abortion clinic. A wave of sadness came over me as I realized that a baby was going to be killed today. The lady with the literature was ten yards down the sidewalk, faint tears still on the inside of her eyes. I shook my head and she nodded in acknowledgment. Both of us knew and felt something so horribly wrong. We kill our own. For whatever the reason, we kill our own.

Iowa Senator Tom Harkin, a democrat, today defended Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s United Nations speech in which Chavez called President George Bush the devil. Harkin said the comments were “incendiary”, then went on to say, “Let me put it this way, I can understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush’s policies.” Harkin continued what has been frequent criticism of the president’s foreign policy. Harkin says Bush came to office saying he wanted a new humility in foreign policy in reaching out to other countries, but Harkin says Bush’s actual policy has been heavy handed. Harkin says the anger against Bush is generated from the Iraq war, which Harkin says was “unnecessary.” Harkin says, “We tend to forget that a few days after 9-1-1 thousands, thousands of Iranians marched in a candlelight procession in Teheran in support of the United States. Every Muslim country was basically on our side. Just think, in five years, President Bush has squandered all that.” Harkin says the U.S. has put billions of dollars into the Iraq war, when it could be helping poor countries with things like clean water, medical aid and education.

A stunning assembly of blame America first thoughts. Oh did I mention Harkin was a Democrat? Anyways. Isn’t it nice to see a Senior Democrat feel the need to blame Bush’s 5 years in office for the thousands of years of angst between Muslims, America, and the rest of the World. That’s a lot of canoles!Â Surely this figure is way out of line! SoÂ I look up another Minnesota Rep. campaigning for reelection this year - Betty McCollum. $207,716Â (see above) IN TAXPAYER MONEY!!!!!!!! Hoooah! Betty’s probably up to the same no-good shenanigans as Kline! Maybe if the author of this “well-researched” piece had dug a little farther, he may have found this page from his source:

Actually Triple_A the comment blocker you are running into is the filter that prevents comments being left within too short of a time span.

It’s to prevent automated spammers from just flooding the site with comments. If you don’t have a similiar filter on your site you are a dumbass.
