Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath. At night, the ice weasels come.

Management Hates Me

December 8th, 2005 by Kevin

The following is a conversation that my employer had to have had a couple weeks ago…I\’m sure of it. Names, places and lottery numbers have been changed to protect my assjob.

[Management is in a big planning meeting]

Manager 1 : Ok, so next on the agenda is Project ABC. Got a real tight schedule on this one. Plus we\’re porting everything over to Linux so all sorts of stuff has to change. Should be an interesting project.

Manager 2 : No doubt. But we got a good team on this one. As a bonus every team member, except one, was able to recently take the Linux Kernel and Device Driver classes we offered recently.

Manager 3 : Oh? Who was the one?

Manager 2 : Kevin Ecker. Yeah, seems he hunts alot so wasn\’t able to attend the classes when we offered them.

Manager 1 : Hmmm, but everyone else on the team was able to though??

Manager 2 : Yup. Fortunately Kevin hasn\’t had to work with device drivers before, so the lack of classes didn\’t hurt him too bad.

Manager 3 : Plus, not everything on this project is that low level anyway, I doubt there will be enough of that type of stuff to go around anyway.

Manager 1 : True…which reminds me. We haven\’t decided who we are gonna have write all the new device drivers we\’re gonna need since none of our hardware cleanly ports over to Linux.

Manager 3 : Didn\’t we just decide Kevin was the most qualified for that?

Manager 2 : I think so. Yes most definitely.

Manager 1 : Right, it\’s settled then. Kevin writes the new Linux device drivers.

Manager 3 : Well…it\’s almost 2 o\’clock, time to clock out. Anyone up for a beer?

Manager 1 : Sure

Manager 2 : You bet!

So yeah, if you notice the blogging start to decline in qualityquantity, well….that\’s why.
