Hockey! Professional Hockey!! Yeah!!

Oh goody goody goody. Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Yeah…so I\’m splitting season tickets for the MN Wild with a couple co-workers (my firearm habit makes buying a full season cost-prohibitive). And Tuesday, September 20th, 2005 will be my first game.

Preseason. Vs the Buffalo Sabres. Game to include a shootout.

You see…I\’m a bit excited. I\’ve been getting by watching college and high school hockey. And really I was rather sick of losing bets on my alma mater\’s hockey team.

So now the Wild begin…finally.

I\’m a bit nervous about this season. Mostly because of the uncertainty surrounding everything. Franchise players have been jumping teams like the league sprung a leak. That combined with rule changes makes it a little difficult to predict exactly who the \”teams to bet\” are.

It doesn\’t help that the MN Wild appeared to show no desire whatsoever to take part in the signing/trading frenzy of free agent superstars on the market. Having dedicated themselves to the team concept they neglected to pick up any uber-talent. And while I can respect and admire the team concept, it still makes me nervous.

But in the end….it\’s hockey. Professional hockey.

Which is a really long way of saying that from now until the Stanley Cup is won, if there is a Wild hockey game on that night, blogging will be light to non-existant….unless we\’re doing really poorly, then blogging will be heavy and grumpy.
