Crying For Uday and Qusay

July 23rd, 2003 by Kevin

So yesterday we converted two vicious human wastelands to room temperature pieces of meat. I was originally skeptical but today I found out that they confirmed their identity through multiple human sources and by comparing dental records. Apparently DNA testing is being done and photos are being released soon. The Iraqi people apparently are VERY happy to hear this news:

The Iraqi capital has erupted in a barrage of celebratory gunfire as news spread that Saddam Hussein’s two sons were killed in northern Iraq.

Now one would think there was no way you could NOT be happy about this turn of events. Boy was I wrong. The Tinfoil Hat Club over at the Democratic Underground (DU) have all sorts of interesting things to say. Rep. Rangel D-N.Y. is pissed off that we “assassinated” them…going so far as to call it a breach of US policy. And the raving moonbats over at Indymedia have an “interesting” way of “reporting” the deaths of the Hussein boys.

Let’s handle them one at a time shall we?? I encourage you to take a breather between each. You’ll get a headache reading about so much stupidity in one sitting.

Indymedia

Why don’t we look at how Indymedia reported this event:

Following a tip off, US forces stormed a small house in the town of Mosul, which was owned by a cousin of Saddam. According to reports, the house was occupied by a group of men, including Saddams sons, Uday and Qasay. The US ought to have sent troops to arrest these men, but they didn’t.

Well first of all they started out by using a bullhorn to tell them to surrender and come out, nobody answered. They entered the building and were fired upon. Don’t exactly a friendly reception I’d say. So yes they tried to capture them, they didn’t want to be captured.

Instead they sent a battalion of 200 foot soldiers, 8 armoured vehicles, 4 apache gunships and had many more armed forces on standby. These troops then proceeded to bombard the house for 6 hours with a constant barrage of bullets, bombs, grenades and the best of current American weaponry.

Well when your going after two of the most wanted men on the planet who are notoriously vicious and violent, sending in a single police officer isn’t exactly going to cut it now is it? And I might note that they called in the “constant” barrage which lasted TWO hours AFTER they were fired upon TWICE.

After 6 hours all the occupants surrendered. What happend then is not clear.

Actually it is, after the barrage soldier entered the building again, the one person left alive fired on the soldiers who promptly killed him.

The US military claim that Uday and Qasay came out with a teenage boy and another man. They were then shot several hundred times by the troops, who felt that they were under threat.

The military has never claimed that. None of their press releases indicate the Hussein boys left the building at all. I don’t think the numbers of times they were shot has been counted, autopsy has yet to be performed. And the troops felt they were under threat because the men were firing at them from behind barricades.

Iraqi witnesses say that Uday and Qasay were led back into the house where gunshots were heard, before the announcement came that they were killed in the ‘firefight’. At the moment details of the event are sketchy, but it is already clear that the US had NO intention of arresting these men.

Actually what is sketchy is where the hell you get this bullshit. It is clear to me that the Hussein boys had NO intention of surrendering.

The US cannot possibly say that it was a miracle that only these four men were killed, unless they believe that the ‘magic bullet’ that killed Kennedy has somehow resurfaced and twisted and turned round walls to hit Saddams sons.

I thought this was a news story, not an editorial.

What is murder ? The pre-meditated killing of another, in a non-war situation. Iraq is not at war anymore. Does anyone out there really believe these men were killed in a crossfire ? And the US actually sent all those troops there to arrest these men ? I don’t think so.

Iraq is not at war anymore?? Tell that to the US soldiers still dying over there. Still dying to protect the Iraqi people from the very same type of people we just killed. And personally I don’t care if they tried to surrender. Gave them a test of what all their victims felt like.

Rep Rangel

Now according to a statement made by Rep. Rangel D-N.Y. on FoxNews Hannity & Colmes, the US acted illegally in killing Uday and Qusay.

“We have a law on the books that the United States should not be assassinating anybody,” Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., told Fox News Channel’s “Hannity & Colmes.”

Hmmm, is that so. Well yes, in fact we do, it goes as follows:

2.11 Prohibition on Assassination. No person employed by or acting on behalf of the United States Government shall engage in, or conspire to engage in, assassination.

Yes the troops involved in the operation were employed and acting on behalf of the US government. And yes they did kill, murder, assassinate someone. However, I’d like to point out one small detail…THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS IN WAR!!! You kill people, particularly the enemy…which these definitely were.

And I would think that a lawmaker such as your self would know the difference between a “law on the books” and an “executive order” such as this one….Executive Order 12333 to be specific. Executive Orders are made by the President and can be changed by the President.

“And when you personalize the war and you say you’re killing someone’s kids, then they, in turn, think they can kill somebody.”

Um, they already are killing people. Infact they were killing people (their own people) before we even went in. We’re killing them so they can’t kill others. You might want to rethink your statement.

Then Rangel mocked the U.S. military’s success in killing the two Hussein heirs, saying, “I personally don’t get any satisfaction that it takes 200,000 troops, 250,000 troops, to knock off two bums.”

For the record 200,000 troops were not involved in this. By most reports about 200 were. And when you are trying to bring two of the worlds most dangerous and vicious bastards to justice, you don’t take chances. Would you have preferred we sent 5 of our boys to knock at the door. Would you have been happier if they died??

Democratic Underground

There is no greater gathering of liberal lunatics than the Democratic Underground. And every once in awhile it’s amusing to hear the type of conspiracies they come up with. Although I’m convinced that you lose braincells for every minute spent there. In any case you have got to get a load of some of the stuff posted there.

Four posts in particular:

CNN a single source identified bodies:

One fucking person identified these guys. Bushit

Your right, more than one did. As well as dental records.

I’m willing to bet that they got Osama and maybe even Saddam on ice somewhere, waiting for just the right moment to thaw them out. Say when W’s polls dip below 40%.

Is this the same “W” you claim is such a dumb baffoon yet can some how manage to organize and an international conspiracy, no doubt involving hundreds of people?

So I bet them husseins son’s bodies have some frostbite:

I mean, it’s not like we claimed to kill Saddam twice, only to find out each time that we were wrong

Actually we never claimed that. We said they were targeted and that we had to verify they were dead. We were never able to verify it.

Uday and Qusay are NOT dead:

1) Would two wanted men hide out in a relative’s house, if their entire nation had been taken over by their enemies?

Well actually yes…who else can you trust? Most of their regime was made up off family members or people from the same tribe.

2) Would these particular two wanted men stay at the same place for ANY period of time?

Who said they were there for very long?

3) Would two such high ranking (and wealthy) wanted men only have ONE BODYGUARD BETWEEN THEM?

They have been disconnected from their troops and isolated from their security organizations. And since we’ve pretty much convinced them that their entire organization is full of leaks, would you trust your old bodyguards? Besides, they are trying to hide, not draw attention to themselves.

I would be willing to bet that these men are nothing more than relatives who look similar, or possibly even look-alikes as used by the regime to thwart assasination attempts.

Dental record have proven it. The records for Qusai indicated a 100% chance and for Uday it was a 90% chance. Pretty good odds to me. DNA testing is on the way.

The video will probably be from the same sound stage as the moon landings.

LOL, ok I’m not even going to comment on this one. I’ll let it speak for itself.

Their deaths don’t mean squat to most anyone, unless you’re a desperate freeper watching their (P)resident go down in flames or a US soldier in Iraq who might be the victim of payback.

I think they probably mean something to the regimes victims families.

Doesn’t a part of you wish that Queasy and Duh-day were alive?:

I’ll admit they’re scum and rightfully so, but anything that lands as even more humiliation on W’s grotesque shrivelled face is that much the better.

It’s sad, really, that as despicable as they are, Saddam’s family seems to be the lesser of two evils when you compare them to the wretched little bastard* occupying the White House and destroying America in the process…

Ok granted most of the people on this thread disagreed with him. But seriously, how shallow of a human being do you have to be to take the side of torturerous murdering despots just for the chances to take a shot at your own country and it’s elected leadership who you disagree with politically.

Kim Jong = Farking Nuts

July 16th, 2003 by Kevin

You know I really have to wonder exactly what North Korea is thinking….or smoking. I’m not sure what to make of any of this. First they threaten Australia with nuclear war. Then the taunt the US with war. They make claims of hundreds of nuclear missiles aimed at the US. They begin firing on South Korean soldiers in the DMZ. I mean yes I realize Kim Jong is howling at the moon, blithering in the straight jacket, raving moonbat crazy, but does he realize what’s happening here?

Already some analysts think war is inevitable.

Former defense secretary William Perry warned that the United States and North Korea are drifting toward war, perhaps as early as this year

And the Pentagon is drawing up both war plans and pre-war plans, including some rather provocative ideas.

One scenario in the draft involves flying RC-135 surveillance flights even closer to North Korean airspace, forcing Pyongyang to scramble aircraft and burn scarce jet fuel. Another option: U.S. commanders might stage a weeks-long surprise military exercise, designed to force North Koreans to head for bunkers and deplete valuable stores of food, water, and other resources. The current draft of 5030 also calls for the Pentagon to pursue a range of tactical operations that are not traditionally included in war plans, such as disrupting financial networks and sowing disinformation.

Now originally I was of the opinion that we could handle North Korea best by simply ignoring them. I mean their economy has been in trouble for years. Public unrest is growing. They have border problems both North and South. They survive by the charity of other nations. It seemed like this latest round of saber rattling seemed to be simply a desperate attempt for more aid to keep the regime afloat.

Now that may still be the case. However, things seem to be ratcheting up far enough that this little “game” is getting very dangerous. While the US may have distant on it’s side, important allies such as Japan, Australia and South Korea do not. And if the North Koreans manage to complete their new line of missiles capable of hitting the West Coast of the US, the US itself is in danger. With a leader as crazy as Kim is, after awhile how do we know that these threats are just threats?? Eventually the US has to take them serious and respond…especially if our allies start to feel a little exposed.

Ok so eventually we need to respond…fair enough. But it’s not that easy. How do you respond?? Naval Blockade?? Economic Sanctions?? Surgical Strikes?? Nuclear First Strike?? A naval blockade or economic sanctions, NK says it will consider that an act of war. Surgical strikes would definitely be an act of war. Nuclear strike, well that’s ending a war. But really the world tends to look down on ending a war before it starts.

But really what rational option is there? Anything short of a handicapping strike and you can kiss Seoul goodbye. The North Koreans have enough artillery along the border to level Seoul and all it’s citizens within moments. That’s not to mention the thousands of North Korean soldiers just itching to pour across the border and run right into our contingent of soldiers.

So that effectively leaves a massive surgical strike or the nuclear option. Surgical strike of course begs the question…could we do it fast and stealth-fully enough to cripple them before they can strike?? And do we know where all their nukes are?? What if we miss one? Of course we face the same problem with a nuclear strike but really, one of our missile subs carries enough to make North Korea permanently glow in the dark. While a nuclear strike may cause the least number of casualties among our allies, it will almost certainly mean the death of most of the starving North Korean citizens, who are perhaps the biggest victims in this whole situation.

Of course this all assumes that a strike is necessary. Is it? I’m not sure I see viable alternatives….especially if North Korea continues it’s saber-rattling. Even if Washington doesn’t take it seriously, I’m sure the Aussies can only be threatening with nukes so many times before they start squirming. Considering they helped us in both Afghanistan and Iraq we are certainly indebted to help them out.

Even before that we have a rogue country that is known to almost exclusively depend on drug and weapons trafficking for it’s hard income. Once they have a few extra nukes on their hands, who’s to say the next ship on it’s way to Yemen isn’t carrying a hot nuke? Surely the world can’t possibly allow that….and it will inevitably fall to the US to do something about it….as does everything else.

And if North Korea actually tests a nuclear weapon, this whole discussion is moot. Because more than likely the US missile silos will already be empty.

Acidmans 25 Questions

July 7th, 2003 by Kevin

Ok so Acidman posted 25 questions and the whole blogosphere decided to answer them. I figured, when in Rome…

1. Do you have a personal hero? If so, who is it?

My father. If I become half of what he has become, I’ll consider myself successful.

2. What is your favorite book of all time and what made it so fucking good?

Wow, awfully tough question for only the second one. Um, I tend to read books more to forget the world than learn others opinions. So I’d definitely list anything by Tolkien or Douglas Adams. However, I’m also a war-history buff, so I enjoy reading books about past battles especially the Pacific Theater of WWII. My favorite is probably “Thunder Below” by Admiral Eugene B. Fluckey because of the conversational way we relates his experiences and those of his crew during the war.

3. What does “diversity” mean to you?

Not the same thing it means to Democrats. To me it’s become a poisoned term. Originally meaning just the state of being mixed, it’s now taken on it’s own political agenda which implies quotas and forced mixing.

4. What is the wildest thing you’ve ever done?

I dunno, I can’t remember it because I was having such a mind-sickeningly fun time.

5. Do you regret doing it?

For most of the next day yes, after that, definitely not.

6. Can you drive a stick shift?

Define “drive”….if you mean without leaving the transmission scattered for 5 blocks, then….”no”. Otherwise sure, I’ll give it a shot.

7. What’s the highest speed you ever traveled in a car?

123 mph

8. Were you driving, or riding at the time?

Driving

9. Which is better: snakes or spiders?

Snakes….spiders are well…bugs.

10. What is the most disgusting thing you ever ate?

All I can think of is foods I don’t really like, but those aren’t really disgusting. I dunno.

11. Have you ever shit your pants? Be HONEST!

Nope, sorry

12. Was losing your virginity an enjoyable experience?

Most definitely

13. Should oral sex be outlawed or encouraged?

Bring it on!

14. Name one man with a fine ass.

Um, to be honest I’m not sure what defines a fine ass on a man. Is small or big good?? Um, women, help me out here.

15. Do you watch golf on television? If not, will you iron my shirts?

No and no

16. Who is Martha Burk?

Hmm, sounds familiar but hell if I know, I could probably google and find out but I’m guessing that’s not in the spirit of the quiz.

17. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Oh there are lots of things. I’m a work in progress and always striving to improve. You’re going to have to narrow this down a bit

18. Do you eat raw oysters?

Ugh no, while I admit I eat my steaks pretty rare, I do require all my food to be cooked to some extent.

19. Are you claustrophobic?

Nope…don’t really have a phobia that I’m aware of.

20. If you rode a motorcycle, would you wear a helmet even if the law said you didn‘t have to?

Hell yes! It even makes me quesy if I see bikers riding without leather jackets and pants. Pavement and skin are not friends

21. Name five great Presidents.

Reagan, Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Teddy Roosevelt

22. Name three shitty Presidents.

Franklin Roosevelt, Carter, Clinton

23. Now call me fanny and slap my ass. Just kidding.

You better be kidding

24. This is the 4th of July. Did you set off any fireworks?

Lots, could have landed planes with some of them. Of course they were all “legal” ones….hehe, ok I can’t even type that with a straight face.

25. If you could have dinner and conversation with anyone in the history of the planet, who would you choose?

Oh wow. I’ll go out on a limb here and say Jesus Christ. While as an atheist, I don’t believe in what many religious folk believe he stood for, I do believe that the physical man existed at one point. And I challenge you to find someone who has had a greater impact (for better or worse) on our world.

Ok folks that’s it…now it’s your turn. Let me know your answers.

Trouble? Call The Imperialist Fascists To The Rescue!!

July 1st, 2003 by Kevin

Ok, the latest news story is the trouble in Liberia:

THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION is coming under considerable international pressure to contribute to a United Nations-backed intervention in the West African state of Liberia — and understandably so. Founded by freed U.S. slaves, Liberia has been a close U.S. ally for most of its history, and now it is living through one of the worst moments in those 150 years. Its warlord president, Charles Taylor, is holed up in the capital city, Monrovia, besieged by rebel armies. Mr. Taylor agreed to step down peacefully as part of a cease-fire agreement last month but then reversed himself; the result has been heavy fighting in the capital that has left hundreds dead. U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan has called for an international peacekeeping force to prevent further bloodshed, and he has implored the United States to lead it. Britain and France have publicly backed the idea, and several West African nations have offered to contribute 3,000 troops if they are matched with 2,000 Americans. Both sides in Liberia say they would welcome a U.S.-led force. Faced with such unanimity, the Bush administration should strongly consider acting.

Ok, first of all let me say this. I feel bad for the people of Liberia and I take their problem very seriously. In fact, provided we can spare the troops from our forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and the UN picks up the cost, I have no problem with us sending in troops.

Here is my problem though. Just a few months ago we were this horrible hegemon. We were facist pigs. The Imperialist scum that is the cause of all that is evil on this planet. Now the world has found a little problem and right away they call us??!!? I thought we were so fucking evil!

Every day, people of various nations called us the biggest threat to world peace. We were the source of all the worlds problems. Our troops shouldn’t always be in other peoples countries. Now you have the slightest problem and “Heh, let’s get the Americans to do it!! They are the only ones that can help!!”.

You know what? Fuck You. Apparently France couldn’t handle it’s little problem in the Ivory Coast, and now wants our help by taking out the dictator that is part of the problem?? Wait a second….just a few months ago we were child-killing war-mongers for taking out two other horrible dictators. So basically we’re only allowed to preserve world peace when the hostilities bothers the rest of the Western world?

We can’t go in just for the sake of…oh saving peoples lives?? That would be war-mongering!! That would be evil. How dare the hegemon of the world use it’s power to do good…..unless it serves us as well.

Tell you what….we took care of the last two skirmishes as well as bailed the world out of two wars. Since France wants to be a superpower so bad why don’t we have them do it instead??? After all, they are doing a bang-up job in the Ivory Coast….er, nevermind. Let me grab my boots…the United States will be there to save the day….AGAIN.
